Great property
We had an amazing week. The property was just as advertised, incredible view and well equipped for a family of 4 for 7 nights. We loved having an option of 3 pools and being so close to the beach.

Costa Rican Adventure
We rented Los Almendros 37 for the entire month of February. Our group was two couples, over 65. Rich Coast was great in that they responded quickly to any questions we had and were very professional. Thank you Bryan and Chris for all your assistance. The condo itself is as described on VRBO, and the pictures are accurate. Nearly every day we heard and saw Howler Monkeys, along with a variety of birds. We usually saw iguanas on our walk to the beach which, while short, does involve walking down and up some fairly steep steps. The beach itself is lovely and we did snorkel, but the water was a bit cloudy. Father Rooster's restaurant is about the only place to eat in Ocotal, but the food we thought was good. Grocery shopping and just about everything else requires a trip into Coco. We decided not to rent a car, so for part of the time we rented a golf cart. The road to Coco from Ocotal is used a lot, and it's not in the best state of repair. We took several trips into town in the cart, but each time was a bit of an adventure. We would have rented a cart longer, but none were available We'd advise if you don't plan on renting a car, reserve your golf cart when you book your stay. We booked a rainforest tour and the Diamonte Echo Adventure Park both through Rich Coast. Thank you Kerri so much for helping us plan activities during our stay. The only thing we suggest as an improvement is to get a new couch and chairs for the condo living room. We found them very uncomfortable.

Ocotal Hidden Gem
We were extremely satisfied with this VRBO in Ocotal. The VRBO is nestled on a hillside overlooking the bay. The views from the porch are amazing. It is a short walk down to the beautiful beach and a close walk to a nice restaurant called father Roosters. The VRBO had everything you need for a comfortable stay. It was well kept and clean, everything worked just fine and the commute into Play Del Coco by car is short. A great place for families or couples.

Lovely beach location
Nice, well-equipped place. Easy walk to the beach. Good snorkeling off the beach - we saw rays, turtles, octopus, and more. Great sunset views from the balcony. A car is good idea to drive to town as there are no shops close by. We were not expected by the facility upon arrival so that took some time to sort out. The AC in the main room of the house was also quirky. We had to have it fixed twice since it would not turn on and once fixed it still did not cool very well but we did not want to have to deal with any more repairs while we were on vacation. Bedroom ACs were great. Water pressure was great. Ceiling fans in all the rooms were appreciated.

Staying here was the RIGHT choice
Pictures of the view from this place cannot capture the beauty. There is a pool right under the window where you can relax, swim, soak, and still see the ocean and the boats. The beach right there is pleasant with fewer people and the best snorkeling. Renting a golf cart made our 4 days here much more fun. Our host is kind and she provided everything making our stay a joy. We got the best sleep in these comfortable beds.

The pictures don’t do this property justice. It’s bigger than we expected and way more amenities than expected. There are kids water wings, snorkels, water shoes, weights, yoga mats, sarongs, adult life jackets, inflatable floaties for the pool, sand pail and an assortment of other sand toys. We are cooks and there was an abundance of spices…couldn’t list them all here. We rented a golf cart and the ride into the grocery store in Coco was a delight. We got our staples at Super Compro (costa rican owned) and our fruit and veggies at the last fruit stand on the way back to the condo…they were the nicest, had the freshest fruit and were the most reasonably priced. The beach is amazing at Ocotal. I almost don’t want to rave too much about it cuz it’s a “best kept secret”. We tried the beaches in Coco and Hermosa and Ocotal was the best in our opinion. The pools are clean and warm and quiet. The wildlife was incredible to watch. Lynn, the host, answered my many questions before we arrived and was warm and helpful. We would love to Los Almedros if we could!!! Thank you Lynn!!

Fabulous relaxing beach stay with a spectacular view!
We spent four nights at the condo over spring break as part of our first trip to Costa Rica. As this was our first trip, we didn't know what to expect, but Playa Ocotal was beautiful. The condo is at the top of the complex and has a panoramic view of the bay - ideal for sunrise and a fresh cup of Costa Rican coffee. The condo offered everything we needed: comfortable beds, good AC, and a well-equipped kitchen! Playa Ocotal is a small bay that never felt crowded, even during a holiday week. The water is warm and clear with slight waves, perfect for young kids, snorkeling, etc. There is one restaurant which serves lunch and dinner. We didn't cook while there, but we stopped by and got fresh baked goods and fruit for the mornings for breakfast. Lynn was very accommodating and quick to answer any questions. Thanks for a great stay!

Perfect location and condo!
We loved the condo. Excellent layout. Covered parking and walk to the door, which can be very helpful in the rain. An amazing view! Sunsets are spectacular. Morning coffee with a view to follow. The kitchen is well appointed Check for spices before you go shopping, they might be in there. The master bed was extremely comfortable. The Almendros staff was very friendly and helpful. Shout out to Carlos! Both Carlos'. The closest trail to the beach takes you to the north end, which had the best snorkeling of the entire trip. The south end has good snorkling also, but the water was more murkey from silt/ sand. Beautiful black sand beach, and Father Roosters. Trips in to Coco are easy, once you get used to driving in CR. Panomar is the place to go to for seafood that you will cook. We had parrot fish and shrimp. Both excellent. We didn't get to the MegaSuper, but found that the Chinese grocery had the most US types of food and staples. All of the grocery stores are a great experience, but sometimes you just want something a little more familiar. Ron Ron was one of our best vacations ever!

We enjoyed our time in Ocotal. We used it for a 4 day dive trip with Rocket Frog Divers in Playa Coco. It was very nice. It was quiet. It had a nice view of the beach and ocean from the porch, as well as inside. The check-in process was easy. The beach is a fairly long walk down from the condo on steps but we did walk over one night to have supper at the beach restaurant next door which was a cool experience. There is a small pool you share with 9 other condos near-by. It was very convenient to be able to drive right up to the condo to unload your luggage right through the back door and park there. The inside is nicely decorated with many decorations and pictures. We didn't have any functional problems. It would have been nice but not necessary to have an information packet of some sort in the condo. It was a nice place for two people to stay.

We made a great choice with Casa Ron Ron. Lynn was excellent and welcoming as was the condo. Everything you need is there! The kitchen has it all! The master bed is very comfortable, but not so much the second bedroom. (My husband tried to sleep in the second bedroom for a couple of nights, as we both got sick a few days after arrival.) It's a short walk to the beach which has black sand and good snorkeling. Loved Father Rooster's beach front bar/food, and it's a 10 min drive into Coco for groceries, restaurants, etc. We can't say enough about the people of Costa Rica. We always felt welcome and safe! Thank you Ron and Lynn for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Lovely Condo!
We truly enjoyed our stay in this charming condo. It has all the amenities and has a homey feeling; it is nicely decorated with art crafts that blend nicely with the overall color pattern of the furniture. You can tell that the owner has an artistic flair. The view from the balcony is breathtaking. The condo management is super helpful and for a small fee they arranged for us to have groceries in the condo since we arrived late at night and all supermarket were closed. Also they helped arrange all transportation. I can't thank enough Daniela and Heraldo, truly amazing people! It was nice to be able to walk to the beach; we enjoyed snorkeling but the sea was a bit rough. My kids enjoyed the pools as well. Father Rooster is conveniently located at the beach and the food is good there. A taxi to town is $6 each way. I highly recommend this condo.

Words cannot describe the view from Los Almendros #37 “Casa Ron Ron”. This place is amazing! The view is like none other, the beach is incredible, the community is gated and safe and the staff are fantastic. Lynn (the owner) is awesome to deal with; she is quick to respond, full of knowledge and suggestions and her condo is beautiful. Our stay at Almendros was absolutely wonderful. Lynn answered all of our questions so timely prior to our stay and was so excited for us and our upcoming time there. The condo was very clean, quaint, and had all of the necessities to cook some of our own meals. We felt very safe within our condo complex, with security at the gate after dark. Everyone we met was so kind and helpful. We rented a car, which was great to have freedom to drive into town for restaurants and shopping. Friendly neighbor David downstairs was a great resource for questions and suggestions, and works for a catamaran company that we took - highly recommend. Overall our time was fabulous. We would definitely stay again!

I Want to Change my Address!
We just got home from 6 of the best weeks of our lives! This Condo is amazing! Lynn is so easy to work with and responds very quickly to emails. The Condo had everything you need. We ate at home a lot and never wished for a thing that wasn't there. The beds were all very comfortable. There is a pool just outside the Condo and a larger one not too far away. My husband snorkelled every day and said he saw quite a few varieties of fish and stingrays. The washer and dryer made it very convenient. There is maid service once a week. She changed the bedding and the towels so we didn't have to do any of that. To go to town for groceries the cab cost about. $7 each direction. The Howler Monkeys would play in the trees just off the deck which was fun to watch. We really liked the small, friendly community and have booked to go back again next year. I would highly reccomend booking this Condo but be ready to not want to leave! Thanks Lynn!

We enjoyed our stay at Lynn's property on Playa Octotal. Communication with host was very good, the location of the condo couldn't be better as it's just a very short walk to the beach. View from the balcony cannot be beat! Beds were comfortable, condo was very clean and appropriately supplied with necessary items in the kitchen to cook your own meals. Sunsets were spectacular and howler monkeys were seen everyday off the balcony. Would recommend staying here if you want to be close to Playa del Coco without the touristy hustle and bustle. Front desk staff was super nice and professional. Thank you, Lynn.

Great for families and easy access to the beach!
My family of four just arrived back from our 9 day stay at Casa Ron Ron. It was a great home base for us. We wanted to enjoy beach (just needed to do a quick walk downhill from the condo), national parks (3 within 1-2.5 hours drive), Food (Playa del Coco is only 10 minutes) and we got it. Staff at Los Almendros was super. I spent every morning enjoying my coffee and the view of the ocean from the veranda. I highly recommend this place. Thank you Lynn!

I can't say enough nice things about this place! From the first morning we got up, we have enjoyed all the wildlife and wonderful views. You will see all kinds of birds, that land on the deck rail, monkeys in the early morning on the left and right of the condo, and several types of lizard. The condo is clean, bed is comfortable, kitchen well stocked. It is very warm ( it may be us, because we are from Alaska), the air-conditioners works well. We have stayed 3 nights, first night a little loud with some of the other neighbors in another building and up-stair our condo (before the quite time of 10pm) but the rest of the visit has been very tranquil. We loved the large pool to the left of the Condo, one afternoon we had the whole pool to ourselves. The locals have been lovely and helpful. We had a tree beside the condo fall in the night and several security guards came to check on the noise, feel very safe. We will return, Gracious Lyn, for sharing your condo. Comfortable stay, great location!
We enjoyed our 3 night stay at the apartment. It's an easy walk to the beach (new steps make it a breeze). We appreciated the 2 full baths and the powerful A/C! The office staff is helpful and were happy to help us with any question or service. We ended up having all three dinners at Father Roosters. Highly recommend a fishing trip with North Pacific Tours -- they pick you up right in from of the restaurant and show you an amazing time! Father Roosters will cook up your catch along with a ton of sides for just $10/person. Soooo good. Swimming pools are small, but still nice to take a dip. Only tip...watch out for the jellyfish in the bay -- all three of us ended up with painful stings. Overall, would definitely recommend!

What a beautiful piece of heaven! This place has the most breath taking views and the staff is very friendly and always willing to help. We really liked being close to the beach and having access to three pools. The main pool was never busy. This condo was also conveniently located to grocery stores and restaurants, but only walking distance to one (Father Rooster's -- which seemed over-priced). We saw monkeys from our balcony. The walk to the beach and the pools is steep. There are steps, so that makes it easier. The view was beautiful from the balcony. As far as the condo, it was adequate. It would have been nice to have some written instructions in the condo with info such as the wifi password, how to dial out on the land line, check-out procedures, etc. Most other places we have stayed have a binder with such information, along with brochures for local attractions, etc. There were four of us in the condo and only 4 bath towels. There were also no towel bars for the hand towels in the bathrooms. One of the pictures listed in VRBO was actually not a bathroom in this unit -- neither of the bathrooms had white cabinets or hand towel bars. The master bath did not even have a toilet paper roll holder. The washer and dryer are located outside the unit and there was no detergent provided, only bleach, so I didn't want to wash anything. It would have been nice to have had the water dispenser in the refrigerator hooked up, since it was our first time in Costa Rica and we weren't yet confident about the water quality. The beds were comfortable and the AC units worked very well. The place felt very safe day and night. Overall, it was a nice place for a brief stay.

Good morning KP, We are so glad you liked our location and felt safe staying in our condo, that is very important to all of us in our community. The bonus of course is that we have spectacular views and you saw monkeys from our terrace during your short stay! Thank you for mentioning that our beds are comfortable and our A/C works well. It was unfortunate that you checked in at 10:30 pm and didn't get a chance to meet the office staff and ask questions before you got to our unit, they would have answered all of those questions. You do make a valid point in that I rely heavily on our office to answer those questions as I live in Canada, and an e mail or fact sheet would be helpful for late arrivals. We don't keep brochures in our unit as things change rapidly in tourist areas and as I said our office staff are an excellent source of current information. We are sorry if you felt our unit was misrepresented on the listing...you are right, we recently had our bathrooms remodelled with beautiful Costa Rican wood cabinets and haven't had a chance to update the photos. I will make every effort to get current pics provided. Sorry about the bath towels, we are trying to be Eco friendly like most hotels, again I wish you had called the office and they would have gladly given you more towels. We typically don't open our laundry to guests staying less than one week as most don't use it on such a short stay . I'm sorry if it wasn't what you were expecting when I had the office open it, most laundry facilities in the tropics are outside because of the heat and humidity they cause. thank you for taking the time to let me know your pleasure and your concerns, we very much appreciate it. Perfect place to stay in Costa Rica
We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Ron Ron. The condo is fully equipped, the view amazing and the beach was beautiful. We did not need a car as there was Father Rooster restaurant on the beach and the Beach Club next door that serves a great breakfast or light lunch (not many people seemed to know about this place). It was easy to cab into Play del Coco for $6 (cheaper than renting a car). The nature was amazing with beautiful birds, howler monkeys, lizards, etc. It was our own Nature Planet paradise. Stefani and the front desk staff were amazing. They went out of their way to help us with tours, taxis and minor issues with the condo. Stefani actually called us at 5:00 am to make sure we were up for a tour. That is what I call service. We felt very safe at Los Almendros. Our favorite place in Playa del Coco was Zi's Lounge with their $4 frozen drinks and $2.45 beer at happy hour (which runs 11 am to 7 pm). Their food was amazing especially the pizza which we found out can be delivered to the condo for $2. Thank you Lynn for sharing your beautiful place with us.

Beautiful beach and surrounds.
The unit was as described and in excellent and clean condition. The view of the beach/bay is amazing from the patio. We would stay here full time if we weren't interested in seeing other areas of CR.

We won’t look any further than this condo for our next trip to Ocotal!
The balcony with its amazing view started with morning coffee and ended there as well for happy hour. The condo was equipped with everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Check in and out very smooth and the staff in the office at Los Almendros so friendly and helpful and looking forward to coming back next year. Don & Brenda from Canada.

Very clean, great views and short walk to the beach
Lynn, thank you for all the great advice. We got a table on the beach at Father Rooster's, had great snorking, caught fish from the surf. We visited the Monkey Farm just a few mikes away. Your recommendations zip lining was spot in where we were able to do water tubing, horseback riding, and experience hot mud baths in the hot springs. We will be back!

wonderful condo
Costa Rica is wonderful and staying in case Ron Ron made it better. this condo is so fully equipped that u can't imagine you would want anything more the magpie jays are super friendly and we saw howlers almost every day. it took a minute to get use to the black sand but it is as soft as any sand I've been on. water was perfect and even though there are 3 pools I only got in one of them one time. snorkeling right from the shore was great as well.

Beautiful and convenient
Incredible little oasis just outside Coco with all the privacy of your own beach, amazing snorkeling, friendly staff and lovely unit with a well equipped kitchen. Close to town but still feels remote and quiet at night

Quiet, Peaceful and Beautiful
A perfect spot for those who don't want an all inclusive resort but want a quiet beach, private pools and spectacular sunsets. Lynn and Ron are delightful people who care about their clients, their condo and Costa Rica. The walk to the beach takes 5 minutes and the only steep part is next to the condo. It's not a big deal to walk it. The kitchen has all the utensils needed. There is a large briquette BBQ at main pool with nice picnic table. Parking right next to the door into condo makes unloading a snap. For additional beaches, Lynn will suggest but our favorite was Hermosa. Great restaurants, monkeys and sandy beach.

Great location near beautiful beach
Very comfortable home. It has everything you need and more. The view is excellent and we were lucky to have a family of Howler monkeys for several of the days that we were there. The location is quiet , it has a great beach with lots of different places to soak up the sun. I would definelty reccommend staying here. Close to Coco beach to get groceries and would suggest having a rental car. We really enjoyed our stay and will hopefully return one day.
