Teleurstelling
Wat een tegenvaller dit hotel. Absoluut geen 5 sterren maar eerder een 3 sterren hotel. Sfeerloos gebouw en dito kamer. Service wat je van een 5 sterren hotel mag verwachten is er niet. Alleen voor de eerste dag 3 capsules koffie op je kamer, voor de andere dagen moet je ze kopen. Avond eten okƩ maar niet super. We kregen de indruk dat ze niet met verse producten werken. Wijn onredelijk geprijsd. Ontbijt was overigens wel keurig verzorgd. Jammer jammer en nog eens jammer. Douro vallei uurtje rijden.

We enjoyed our stay here, and they arranged a wonderful day of wine tasting and a cooking class for us. The things we did not like, though, were that the gym in the basement was very warm, and also the outdoor pool was not open, even though it was quite hot out. The breakfast was nice. There is not much to do in the immediate area, so you would want to have a car, or a driver arranged for your time there. We did not use any of the spa services. They have bikes to use, but we did not inquire about where you would take them.

Prior to arriving 8 emails were not answered. Phone calls went unanswered, on one occasion when the phone was answered it was after 25 attempts. Lack of staff. For a Spa - lack of spa staff - who whilst competent lacked a smile. Pool and pool area needs a clean. Room service menus very limited. Room service exceptionally slow. Al in all explains the lack of guests.

NOT a 5 star hotel by a long shot but has a gorgeous view. Here are some findings from our stay: Parking has no elevator (drop your bags at reception before parking if you have large luggage). No robes/slippers provided (isnā€™t this standard in a 5 star hotel?!). You need a swim cap to use the indoor pool. There are no refreshment services at the outdoor pool. No do not disturb signs for the room door. No coffee or tea facilities in room. Offer no wine experiences (as per website) - donā€™t be fooled, they have none and no partnerships. You need to arrange them yourself and have to drive yourself everywhere (they are not located close to any) - considering they call themselves a wine and spa hotel ā€¦ very disappointing! They are clearly understaffed so some bar staff youā€™ll also notice are plating your dinner too. Small and limited wine menu and very limited restaurant menu (items frequently run out). One-way doors to the balcony by the restaurant (we got locked out and had to knock on the window for another guest to let us back in). The restaurant staff are amazing, our waiter was so attentive and his english was excellent. So too was our check-in and check-out staff. All in all, wouldnā€™t stay here again. Definitely not a 5* as they advise, more like a 3*. Not bad but wouldnā€™t recommend.

Service staff is nice but very slow. keep having to ask for items that should be standard in rooms of 5 star hotels eg room service menu, wine bottle opener, wine glasses which they never ended up bringing any even though I requested it 2 times. No robes or slippers in room. Spa fully booked for 3 days. I mean.. isnā€™t this a ā€œwine and spaā€ hotel? Hotel is pretty and location is incredible but could do better at being clean. Elevators and elevator buttons are dirty, windows around property are dirty, gym equipment not cleaned (sweat marks and sticky equipment), they let many small children use the gym like a jungle gym when trying to work out, left dishes on tables, pool is nice but surrounding needs to be landscaped. Unfortunately not a true 5 star hotel but beautiful location and because hotel is new ish it still looks decent. Should be a 3.5 or 4 star based on amenities and service. Quite disappointing for the cost of it. Restaurant staff was nice and helpful. Just needs an overhaul in management.

TrĆØs bel hĆ“tel. Les chambres avec vue sur les vignes sont magnifiques. Par contre, il manque de personnel et les employĆ©s ne communiquent pas vraiment entre eux. Nous avons achetĆ©s une demi pension (avec 2 repas inclus) mais ceux-ci nous ont Ć©tĆ© chargĆ©s. Nous avons dĆ» le mentionner Ć  chaque fois aux personnels, mais malgrĆ© tout, ils les ont ajoutĆ©s sur la facture. Heureusement, aprĆØs discussion lors du check out, nous avons pu les retirer de la facture. VĆ©rifier attentivement votre facture au dĆ©part si vous prenez la demie pension!!!!! De plus, personne nous a expliquĆ© ce qui Ć©tait inclus dans les repas Ā«Ā demi pensionĀ Ā» et ils ne semblaient pas vraiment le savoir. Nous devions expliquer de nouveau notre forfait Ć  chaque changement de personnel. Bref, cā€™Ć©tait bien, mais jamais clair. Par contre, la piscine est trĆØs belle (mĆŖme si petite pour le nombre de personnes) et le gym trĆØs complet pour un hĆ“tel. La localisation de lā€™hĆ“tel est Ć©galement trĆØs bien pour visiter les vignobles (Ć  30 minutes de Peso da RĆ©gua et Ć  1h de PinhĆ£o).

Beautiful and quiet location. Staff was excellent. Restaurant was delicious. A bit far from most wineries in Douro Valley but enjoyed the peace and quiet and stunning views.

The restaurant menu is very limited. The hotel surely was away from everything else . The service at the restaurant was impeccable I must say . But it is a great get away from all the hustle and bustle . The drive up to the hotel was beautiful . Would recommend to drive during the daylight hours .

Excelente piscina interior a mais de 30Ā°C. ServiƧo muito simpĆ”tico e atento. Valores das refeiƧƵes e bebidas excessivamente caras, aproveitando o facto de o hotel estar num sĆ­tio muito isolado e com poucas alternativas boas sem ter que percorrer estradas de curvas incessantes e praticamente sem iluminaĆ§Ć£o pĆŗblica. Bom pequeno almoƧo com sumos naturais excelentes e ovos feitos no momento. Doces tĆ­picos caseiros em vez do donuts/queques habituais teriam sido apreciados. Estacionamento gratuito com 2 lugares de carregamento elĆ©ctrico. A suite Ć© gigante. Oferta de Ć”gua, cafĆ© e natinhas Ć  chegada. Acrescentaria cortinados que tapem completamente as inĆŗmeras janelas e uma melhor caminha para as crianƧas (os sofĆ”s cama sĆ£o sempre desconfortĆ”veis).

Luxurious Stay with Amazing Views
Check-in was seamless. They seat you and offer you welcome drinks. Parking is free with the options for valet or self-parking. We chose the rooms with terrace and views - this is the only way to go! The locationā€™s amazing not to take advantage to wake up to the wonderful views. The facilities are great - i used the gym, indoor pool, sauna. Thereā€™s also an outdoor pool, good for a warm day. Shame we only stayed for 1 night, will definitely come back and stay longer.

A chegada fomos recebidos por um funcionĆ”rio muito simpĆ”tico. A funcionĆ”rio do spa era igualmente simpĆ”tica. Os quartos tem uma vista maravilhosa. Bom para descansar. Como pontos negativos destaco o tamanho da piscina do spa ser pequena e por nĆ£o haver marcaĆ§Ć£o, acaba por se juntar muita gente. Houve alguns funcionĆ”rios que nĆ£o foram atenciosos, sentimos diferenƧa no tratamento para outros hĆ³spedes . No pequeno almoƧo poderiam fazer melhor.

Both pools are extremely dangerous. I as well as many other people fell trying to get in and out of both pools as that the ladders are extremely slippery. I in fact injured my knee, I wasn't able to use either pool again during my stay. The shower floors are also very dangerous. The builder used a smooth polished paint or epoxy that is extremely slippery when wet. I had to use a towel on the shower floor just to keep from slipping. Other than that, a great staff, great food, great view
