Yearly OBX visits for the past 15 years. This was the first time that I was a little disappointed. First the positives. The A/C worked great. The location was great, but I always stay between Waves and Buxton, usually closer tot he beach, but this wasn’t too bad. It’s was dog friendly, beds were comfortable, and the host was responsive, but I don’t like spending my time bringing every issue to them while I’m on vacation. Had an issue with the toaster and they brought a new one very quickly. Now the less than positive issues. There definitely needs to be more attention given to maintaining the property. Most of the exterior was covered in grass and weeds that had no been cuts for a while. It was over grown in most areas making it difficult to even figure out where to clean up after your dog. The firepit and picnic table were basically useless due to the grass and weeds being uncut, which was a haven for mosquitoes. There were no instructions for the TV and we were never able to get anything programs to work. The wheel on the beach cart was broken rendering it useless. I originally thought the interior was clean until I sat down and saw the amount of sand, hair, and debris under the couches. I moved the living room table a little and the wheel fell right off. The “community pool” is NOT in the community. It is literally a 20 minutes drive south to Avon which is very inconvenient. That was misleading in the ad IMO. Our trip was fantastic otherwise.
