  • OCEANVIEW Rodanthe - Atlantic Dr. - You have a place to stay at the beach at BRENDAN'S COTTAGE! This charming cottage is attractively decorated and well-suited for 1 or 2 small families. The beach and Rodanthe Fishing Pier are just a quick stroll up the street for easy access to both. Sunrise over the ocean and pier are picturesque from the partially covered deck of the home, which also supplies a picnic table for dining outside. A concrete carport with outdoor shower and fishing cleaning table offer conveniences after your day on the beach or pier. Inside the home, find 3 comfortable bedrooms, 2 of which (1 with pyramid bunk for the kids, 1 with a queen bed) share a full bath with tub/shower. The third bedroom is a master suite with queen bed, flat screen TV and private bathroom. The great room is engaging with ocean view, vaulted ceiling, inviting furnishings, large screen TV and Blu-ray® players. The well-appointed kitchen provides modern appliances and everything you need to prepare tasty meals. Enjoy mealtime at the dining table or breakfast bar before heading out for an evening walk on the beach. Make plans to stay at BRENDAN'S COTTAGE this year.

Clean and Comfortable Cottage

This property was very nice and super convenient to both the pier and the beach. The house was very clean and had all the conveniences of home! The deck was wonderful too!

Pre-Autumn vacation

September is a great time for the beach! Crowds have thinned out but still warm enough to enjoy the beach & beautiful sunsets! Had a truly relaxing week in Outer Banks & look forward to doing it again next year!

First time at OBX

Overall the house was very nice, good location,and quiet neighborhood. Only complaint we had were the mattresses, I tried every bed in the house they all need replaced in my opinion, for the money these places cost you should be able to get a good nights sleep.

Relaxing

This was a relaxing vacation. It’s nice that you don’t have to cross any roads to get tor the beach. It’s a bit inconvenient that you have to drive 30 minutes to get to a real grocery store, so bring all that you need. Overall, pretty perfect!

Nice little house, very clean on arrival and check in was easy. Surf and sound was responsive and checked in upon arrival to ensure all was well. This location gets more traffic being near the fishing pier, but if you fish this may be a plus for you. House had the basics, and beds were comfortable. Good fairly new washer and dryer. It would have been nice to have a coffee table in the living room. The kitchen stove top, microwave and dishwasher worked well, with the exception of a very old and broken toaster oven. Some other things that could really use replacement in the kitchen are a number of chipped dishes / glass mixing bowl. A few new cooking pots, a cookie sheet or two and new cutting boards are recommended as feedback given to surf and sound. Very pleased to say no bugs/insects which is not always the case in the Outer banks.

Perfect week at the beach!

Nice clean house in a great location close to the beach. Plenty of room for our family. We look forward to coming back next year!

Relaxing vacation

We had a nice week at Brendan’s Cottage. Good location near the beach and fishing pier. Very short walk. We brought our dog and the place was pet friendly. Area was under rip current advisory so that limited our swimming in the ocean. Only a couple minor concerns with the place. Grill advertised was dirty and only one side was usable so that limited the meals we could cook. Also mold noted in vent of second bathroom. Would definitely consider staying here in the future.

Great place, but problem with WiFi/management

Ignoring the WiFi, this place is great. 2-5 minute walk to the beach depending on if you have kids. Very comfortable, but like other people mention they don't provide much for you in terms of toiletries, paper towels etc. And the skillets aren't great. But we had a great time Including the WiFi problem: If not for the wifi not working for 2 days until I reset the router myself, I'd give it 5 stars. Called and left a message on day of check-in, but you get in after 6 so received no reply. On Sunday I got called as a standard procedure but they didn't know about the wifi. Did not get call back after 20 minutes and instead reached out 2 hours later but heard nothing. That evening called again and finally got a maintenance request for Monday. Monday morning I finally reset the router which someone had set to a brand new network, and it set it back to the default SSID and Password (this does not match the network 100% listed on the fridge). So I would think the place is great, but the management isn't very responsive. I'd stay here again but would do it knowing that they manage a ton of properties and not everything is a high priority.

Everything was just as shown on the web site. The dog loved the easy walk to the beach and pier. Quiet area. Beware business and shops are having worker issues, be patient. Only complaint pots and pans were terrible. Bring a good frying pan and pot. I'd stay here again in a minute.

GREAT Location!

Great neighborhood. Quick walk to the beach- 5 minutes. Right next to Rodanthe Pier- can rent fishing poles for $10 & fishing is $12 for the entire day. Free music a couple of evenings/week. We brought many of our groceries & went to Waves for the rest- in hindsight should have made the 15-20 minute trip to Avon for much bigger grocery store. Also would it would have been nice to have more than 1 garbage bag and 1 dishwasher detergent for the entire week's stay. Also should just say 6:00 for check in- we arrived around 4:30, saw the person was cleaning so went to the grocery store. When we came back at 5:15 they were gone. We waited on the picnic table on the porch with all of our stuff. We didn't receive our code to the house until 6:07. Just FYI the restaurants close early (8:00) and many are closed/short-staffed in the Rodanthe area.

Had a great time

Everything went smoothly except for a couple of things. We arrived late Saturday night and had no idea where the linens were. We had to call the emergency number, and were finally told where they were. Also, the wifi password on the router was not accurate. We had to call the tech support number, and they told us to try using the phone number of the house. That ended up working. It would have been nice if these things were made more clearly for us, so it wasn't so much of a challenge on the first night we arrived.

Enjoyable Beach Stay

Clean rental-appreciated the attention to Covid precautions. Room for all of us plus our little dog. Favorite was the flavored ice truck visits and sitting on the deck.

Cozy Cottage

We enjoyed our relaxing stay at Brendan’s Cottage. It felt like home to our family with teens. The pier was a nice attraction and the beach was a quick walk up the street. It’s an easy walk or bike ride to the coffee shop and activities on the sound. Can’t wait to return!
