OCEANFRONT Rodanthe - East Point Dr. - This cozy traditional beach cottage is just yards away from its own stretch of beautiful beach allowing for outstanding ocean views. ANCHORS AWAY has two bedrooms, each with its own TV. One is a queen master bedroom. The other has a queen and a bunk bed. There are plenty of books and games for a rainy day, but you'll want to spend your time here in your front yard - the beach or on your oceanfront sundeck with your favorite drink, just watching the waves. After one stay at this comfortable and affordable home, you'll want to drop your anchor here again. This home has no grill.

  • Bonner Bridge is one of North Carolina's most well known man-made structures of it's kind (The Linn Cove Viaduct on the Blue Ridge Parkway is probably the most well known). This location makes for a great getaway at the Outerbanks to spend an entire day (and night). The location is popular for fishing and is ideal for landscape and astro photography. You can have lots of fun on some of the dunes, although getting the sand out afterwards is a big hassle. This is one of my favorite images from this location. I love the warm light tones and the shadows that create a contrast in the foreground sand. It is created from a single exposure with only minor modifications made to adjust overall contrast and brightness. If you are interested in wildlife, the Pea Island Wildlife Refuge is nearby and is a very popular location. Cozy house right on the beach

This cute two bedroom was the perfect size for our nuclear family. The deck is perfect for drinking coffee and watching the sun rise. The house is pretty much right on the beach. At high tide the waves sometimes even come up under the house. Any closer houses are already condemned!Renting through Surf or Sound couldn’t be easier. When we arrived there was a care package with essentials we might have forgotten to bring, though I would recommend bringing a couple more hand soaps. Beach towels and shower supplies are not included. I rented a kayak but didn’t feel confident launching it into the ocean so it never got used. If you want to kayak I recommend going to one of the outfitters on the sound side.

New Happy Place

Our trip to the Outer Banks was our first trip there ever! And not only do we fall in love with Rodanthe. We also found love with the house we rented, and our family had the most amazing time! We can’t wait to go back next year.

Little slice of heaven

Lots of big new houses in area but came across this one and while not fancy, it was the perfect fit. Expansive window and deck looking onto beach just steps away. Well stocked kitchen for folks like us who like to cook, steady internet, overall perfect. Had a beautiful week and hope to return to this special home.

Great property, Management company was a total fail!

Pros: Exceptionally well furnished property right by the ocean! Thoughtful owners. The place is a delight! Cons: Dryer was not working, however, when we got there and master bathroom rug smelled of urine. Both these problems could have been easily remedied by management NEVER RESPONDED to voice mail messages amd texts. Owner should fire management agent.

Coronavirus got us!!!!

We were not able to stay at this location because Dare County officials believed it was unsafe for « outsiders » to come onto the island. They set up checkpoints (communist blockades) to keep people out so we did not get to go. Paid for the house and finally got everything refunded back. VRBO did great in helping us. The property management company knew that the island was going to be shut down and took my money anyway. They then the next day said I couldn’t go and I couldn’t get a refund.... I didn’t get to go but made some phone calls to bank and consumer affairs and several other regulatory agencies. Hopefully one day I will make it to the outer banks. It will be with VRBO but not this Property managing company!!!!
