The location is amazing could not be better right in the centre with a partial view of the harbour from the small balcony Parking is a breeze 3 minute walk from the property and you can quickly park outside to drop of your bags shame I can't give 5 stars unfortunately there are a few niggles the sofa is positioned terribly for the TV so uncomfortable the dining table does not work with the chairs either the table is too high or the chairs two low which makes dinning uncomfortable Not a lot of items in the kitchen lack of pans and basic items like a cork screw Very comfortable bed quiet the first night but a lot of noise from the restaurant next door about 1am the second night hopefully a one off.Great spot if it's a base but does not work very well as a self catering unit if you intend to spend a lot of time in the property.Could very easily be brought up to 5 star with a bit of investment and planning.

My husband and daughter loved their stay! It was extremely clean and everything was advertised. GiGi’s communication was beyond what we expected and she was quick to respond!There were absolutely no issues with anything. The location was perfect and we will be back!

The apartment was very clean however, we did have to walk up a back all of a restaurant with the dumpster and a very steep stairwell to get to the apartment. There was a lot of noise from the restaurant at night but other than that it was very close to everything. They were very easy to get a hold of with any questions.

This place was rhe perfect location; smack dab in the middle of everything. Our host, Gigi was very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. The only thing i would point out is to those who are elderly or have a hard time climbing stairs may struggle a bit, but if you dont, the view is beautiful. I would definitely stay there again. Ps; the Red Skiff (downstairs) is a fantastic restaurant. I recommend that place as well.

We enjoyed our stay in a perfectly cozy (but not too small) apartment in the heart of Rockport’s cultural/arts district. This unit had to be the most immaculately kept VRBOs we’ve ever stayed in. It was clean and unlike a lot of the mishmash decor and supplies at some of our stays, Harbor Retreat is simply but tastefully decorated, with organized kitchen utensils and dish ware. Only drawback are the steep entry stairs but we managed.

Only I can complain about is parking. Impossible on a Sunday afternoon got A 50 ticket while moving our stuff into the place. SHAME on Rockport for exploiting the elderly! METER PERSON

Great place in Rockport!

Had two fantastic overnights here, great location within walking distance of a few beaches and many shops/restaurants. My only minor gripe with location was that it's adjacent/shares an alley way with a restaurant and we had to close the windows in the early morning since we could hear the back door opening/closing constantly. To be expected next to a restaurant but something to be aware of, the couch in the main area was also terribly uncomfortable, would like to see that replaced with an actual comfortable piece of furniture to sit and unwind on at night. All that being said, minor issues and would stay here again. The host had great (probably automatic) communications with us the whole time and felt very welcomed, there was also a great guide in the property on things to do and where to eat/etc. Had never been to Rockport before and would definitely go again!

Return to the Harbor Retreat

This was my wife and I’s second stay at the Harbor Retreat. Just as the first visit we found everything to be as hoped; clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. We had issues with our car breaking down and Gigi was so helpful in answering our questions and providing valuable direction for us. We highly recommend the Harbor Retreat for anyone planning a visit to Rockport for a few days or for a week. The location is perfect for walking all around Rockport and it was nice to know in our return trip that we were returning to a clean, well-appointed apartment with a fantastic hostess! Thanks Gigi!

This was an amazing and comfortable space. You couldn't ask for a better location, right on the harbor in the heart of Rockport. Gloucester is just down the road and that is a lively place. I highly recommend this space..

We came to Rockport the first week in December for the Christmas tree lighting. The apartment was very nice. Charming, clean and well-appointed. The location was perfect by the harbor. Gigi was a blessing checking in each day to make sure everything was going beautifully. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Rockport!

Rockport Cape Ann getaway

We LOVED Harbor Retreat. Super clean and everything you need for a comfortable stay. AND right on the Rockport Town Wharf so you can walk to all the shops. We overnight parked on Norwood street and I highly recommend walking to end of Norwood St. the views and homes are stunning. Had we never parked there we probably would have never walked the neighborhood and missed out. There are small public footpaths clearly labeled too that will bring you to stunning views which were fun. If your not able to walk just drive Norwood Street and you'll see it all by car! Our GPS did bring us a couple streets away from Town Wharf so if that happens just put Town Wharf into your GPS and you'll figure it out where your supposed to be. Enjoy!

We celebrated our new marriage this weekend in Rockport and everything was amazing! This place was the best location and very clean and comfortable. Will be booking again soon, perhaps for our anniversary next year!

Host is very easy to work and communicate with. Loft was well appointed. Had a lovely time and got to enjoy night photography on the wharf and felt extremely safe.
