MAISIES ROBE - WI-FI - DOG FRIENDLY

Welcome to Maisie’s. Named for the current owner’s grandmother, three generations have been lucky enough to holiday or live in the home and are delighted to share it with you. A short stroll from Town Beach with a large backyard and cosy log fire, it’s the perfect retreat in summer or winter (in fact, winter might just be our favourite season in Robe…ssshhh…). As an older property, the cottage retains its rustic charm but has all the mod cons you want – the perfect base for a carefree and relaxed stay.

THE SPACE

Maisie’s is in a private location while being close to the village conveniences. Take an easy wander down the main street for shopping, cafes, restaurants and cellar doors – or soak in the spectacular coastline along one of the accessible walking paths. With outstanding local wineries and beaches to explore, a fascinating history, fresh seafood to sample, adventures aplenty and so much more – your stay can include as much or as little activity as you like.

The home is suitable for couples, families, a getaway with friends or even the solo traveller. If you love cosy, older homes with character, you’ve found your match. Please note that if you have mobility issues or prefer a slick, modern décor, Maisie’s may not be right for you.

Basic pantry supplies are provided as a convenience. For the bigger items we encourage you to drop in to a supermarket on your way to stock up on any provisions like milk, bread and any other culinary delights you might want to cook up while at the cottage.

ACCESS

You will have access to the whole house

We are available for you during your stay, but our level of interaction is up to you. If you need anything, give us a call or reach out through the platform. You will be able to self check-in upon arrival.

SME OF OUR FAVOURITE WAY TO SPEND TIME IN ROBE:

Savour local specialties: a warm sticky bun at The Cutter Lapwing, fresh seafood (especially crayfish in season), Mike’s Beef Jerky, and outstanding wines

Visit the iconic Cape Dombey Obelisk (for the perfect Robe photo)

Take a drive to one of the nearby wine regions – Cape Jaffa, Mt Benson and a bit further afield, Coonawarra

Get your caffeine hit from a locally roasted Mahalia coffee or one of the many excellent cafés

Enjoy a local beer or wine at the famous Cally (Caledonian Inn)

If you’re here in summer, sign up for a night of twilight bowls at the beach-front Robe Bowling Club (bonus: the club has the best view in town)

Take in some local live music at the Robetown Brewery, Cally, Robe Hotel or Woodsoak Wines

Drive or walk along Long Beach – it’s 14km of perfection – or head over to West Beach for a more rugged coastline (beware: not for swimming).

This is just a taste – there’s so much more to explore, eat and do. Visit the Tourist Information Centre at the Library in the main street – the friendly staff are always happy to provide local tips! However you spend your time in Robe, we hope you enjoy your stay at Maisie’s and have a chance to unwind.

You will need a car to access our home. There is limited transport in the region

IIMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE

The shower is over the bathtub (not walk-in).
The cottage floor and backyard both have several different levels – not suitable for those with mobility issues, or who are unsteady on their feet.

PET POLICY

We love dogs here but there are some basic rules:
We do not allow puppies
Dogs are allowed indoors but are not allowed in bedrooms, on carpets, beds or furniture.
Do not allow your wet dog in the house, this can leave a lingering smell in the house that is difficult to remove. Penalties will apply.
Dogs barking frequently or for extended periods is not acceptable . All dogs bark occasionally, including mine, but it is your responsibility to control your dog and ignoring them until they stop is not an option.
BYO blanket/bed for your dog to sleep.
The towels in the bathroom are for humans only.
Please report any accidents so I can ensure they are cleaned up properly – this will be at the expense of the guest.
If your dog sheds hair then there is a vacuum cleaner in the laundry to clean it up before leaving.
Dogs must not be left on their own in the house.
