À propos de cet hébergement

Historic 1880s Cape, 10 Min to Jay Peak | Rustic Charm, Clawfoot Tub & Workspace

  • THE SPACE

Jay Peak Cottage is a rustic-chic 1880s home set on a level corner lot in the heart of Montgomery Center, Vermont's far-north village of historic covered bridges. Inside, the period character is immediate — cathedral and warm wood ceilings, original wood floors, and a large stone fireplace anchoring a bright, sunny kitchen.

The home is made for gathering and for slowing down. A light-filled dining room seats eight, the living room opens straight off the kitchen, and a book-stocked reading nook and quiet loft invite a slow afternoon. A dedicated desk makes a remote workday easy, while an electric stove and smart TVs keep the evenings warm.

Outside, a fully covered front porch is built for morning coffee, with a small fenced yard and a two-car garage with shelving for skis and gear. Do note the home has stairs up to the top-floor bedrooms and loft — a main-floor bedroom is ready for anyone who'd rather skip them.

Settle into Vermont's north country — book your stay today!

    ★WHAT WE LOVE★

→ Minutes from Jay Peak — first tracks in winter, plus the resort’s waterpark, golf, and trails the rest of the year, all a short drive from the door

→ Steps from a storybook covered bridge — the historic Fuller Covered Bridge spans Black Falls Brook right beside the village, with the Trout River just across the way

→ 1880s character, thoughtfully kept — cathedral ceilings, a grand stone fireplace, warm wood ceilings, and original wood floors throughout

→ A clawfoot tub — soak upstairs, then curl up by the electric stove as the mountains go quiet

→ Village life — the shops, cafés, and restaurants of Montgomery Center are an easy drive away

→ Room to gather — a sunlit kitchen, a light-filled dining room seating eight, and a cozy loft for games and movie nights

    ★THE COVERED BRIDGE★

Step out the door and you're just steps from the historic Fuller Covered Bridge, which spans Black Falls Brook as one of the celebrated cluster of covered bridges that put Montgomery on the map. The Trout River runs just across the way, so the sound of moving water and a true Vermont postcard are part of everyday life here.

It's a short, scenic stroll to photograph the bridge, wander the village, or follow the water on a warm afternoon — a storybook backdrop in every season.

    ★THE MOUNTAIN★

Jay Peak Resort rises just fifteen minutes from the front door, and it's the reason this cottage carries its name. In winter you're minutes from first tracks on its downhill terrain, with Nordic skiing and riding close behind. The rest of the year the mountain keeps going — the Pump House indoor waterpark, golf, lift-served hiking, and mountain biking. Lift tickets, waterpark passes, and tee times are booked separately through the resort and run seasonally, so check dates before you travel.

    ★THE RIVER★

The Trout River runs just across the way from the cottage, with Black Falls Brook joining it beside the covered bridge. It's a classic northern-Vermont trout stream, and this far-north corner is known for its fly-fishing. Spend an afternoon casting from the bank, cool off with a wade on a warm day, or follow the water on a riverside walk. The river is public water across the road rather than private frontage, so bring your own gear and a Vermont fishing license.

    ★THE VILLAGE★

Jay Peak Cottage sits near the heart of Montgomery Center, on a level in-town corner lot — a local village setting rather than a remote cabin down a dirt road. The shops, cafés, and everyday services of this small northern-Vermont village are minutes from the door, many within an easy walk. Spend a morning on the porch watching the village wake up, stroll out for coffee or supplies, and come and go without a long mountain drive. Parking is limited to the property's own spaces.

    ★THE NORTH COUNTRY★

This far-north corner of Vermont is the cottage's backdrop — covered bridges, river valleys, and the Green Mountains rising toward the Canadian line. It's built for four seasons: skiing and snowshoeing when the snow flies, then hiking, biking, and fly-fishing once the valleys turn green. From the door you can set out for the slopes, the Trout River, or a quiet back road in minutes. Many draws are seasonal this far north, so check what's open for your dates.
