Beautiful rustic, yet sophisticated house built in 2008. It is on a large wooded lot on the main channel of the lake with a really big water view. The best sunset view is from the upper screened-in porch, with the trees silhouetted in between. Blue herons, cranes, and many other birds and wildlife. Hike to the dam on a trail through the woods; enjoy sitting on the dock or swimming and boating off the dock in the summer.

State of the art kitchen with a gas range, double convection ovens, magnificent granite counter tops, and a natural stone bar with soft lighting. Dining area connects the kitchen to the den, which has a huge stone fireplace, comfortable Bob Timberlake furnishings, and a 63' high definition plasma television with surround sound. Wet-bar in the den has a built-in ice maker, wine rack, and handy sink. Screened windows open in front and back to allow a wonderful cross breeze if desired.

Off the kitchen is a screened-in porch with rustic rocking chairs and tables. The huge deck, connected to the kitchen and den, is equipped with a gas grill and a small table for outside meals. Steps lead you downstairs to a raised wooded walkway to the dock.

Every room has an a full view of the water. You feel like you are in a tree house, which is where it got the name Tarheel Tree house! The main master bedroom has a large walk-in shower with dual shower heads.

Three bedrooms: 2 masters with queen beds, 1 bedroom with 2 queen beds. The beds are made for comfort with pillow-top mattresses and homestyle quilts. Bedrooms are decorated for with artwork and charming furniture.

The detached garage has a playroom above it with pool and foosball tables, along with a queen-size futon. It is not air-conditioned or heated, so it is most comfortable when temperatures allow for the window and door to be open for a cross-breeze.

There is one twin-sized foam mattress that can be moved to any room in the house for sleeping.

The hosts were very accommodating to our needs. We were in town for a wedding and had a ton to do for that, so we were unfortunately not able to take advantage of the beautiful views! There is a very homey feel to the house, the bedrooms were spacious. The house was clean where it was important, but it would be nice if the cleaners paid a little more attention to the floors. Overall a very nice stay!

The place was a great fall retreat. We attended a wedding in the area and we hope to return for a longer stay. As we walked in the front door, we were pleasantly amazed. It is stylishly decorated and yet very cozy. The beautiful view of the lake can be seen from every room downstairs and upstairs. It is a treat that people in each bedroom can enjoy the lake view. I am not a morning person, but loved waking to the sunrise view. The main living area was great. It has 2 very large and comfortable sofas and cozy chair which was perfect for visiting, or watching the football game and a movie. The kitchen has been updated and had everything we needed. And the dining table was long and we could all sit on the same side and look out at the lake.

Gorgeous Lake House, Terrific Hosts

We had a great stay at this lake house this weekend. It's a wonderful, roomy home on the lake, with great views, a large deck, an amazing dock, and comfortable screened porches, including one right off the master bedroom. Waking up in the morning with the view was like waking up in the most comfortable treehouse! Everything was well organized and clean. And communication with the host was simple, timely, and extremely polite. It was clear they enjoy others enjoying the amazing place they've set up. I look forward to returning soon.

An oasis I needed

beautiful views all around, it was a perfect getaway to unwind clear your head. The kids loved it and even though we were there in the winter and were unable to enjoy the lake to the fullest the view was outstanding. Perfect get away

We enjoyed our weekend girls trip at the lake house. It was very clean and accommodating. The view was great and the beds were comfy! The kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need for cooking. I would recommend this place for sure!

Absolutely gorgeous views and property

Can't say enough great things about this property!! True luxury and beautiful views from all bedrooms and living areas. Amazing screened in porches with rocking chairs and several wonderful seating areas on the back porch, close to the water and a beautiful dock area that you can sit and read on or just hang out. We even did a polar bear plunge off the dock...so much fun. This amazing Lake home is a must stay and we will definitely be back!!! House was stocked with everything you could possibly need!!!

Beautiful Lake House

Enjoyed our getaway to High Rock Lake. The lake house was cozy and decorated very tastefully. The Tamarac Marina is the closest place to grab a bite to eat. The food was quite good. They also have a general store as part of the restaurant. You will be off the beaten path a bit but if looking for peace and quiet, this is your place.

Home away from home

From arrival to departure this house was an absolute pleasure to stay at. From the kitchen to the living room to the bedrooms to the deck and waterfront the house just has a nice flow to it. It allows for people to be together as well as to have some privacy. I would stay here again without a second thought.

We had a great time at this property. Very clean and well maintained. The owners were easy to work with also. Deep water off of the pier for swimming or fishing. The show stopper however is the view from every room in the house. You won't be disappointed.

Fantastic Lake Views!

Wonderful long range lake views from every room in the house really make this home an amazing experience. The weather was hot but nice so we spent a good deal of time fishing off the dock with some nice catches including 2 huge Catfish and the biggest Bream I've ever seen. The 2 nice screened porches were great in the cooler times of day. A great 5 days here and would definitely return.

A little disappointed

The house was gorgeous but there were some things that were disappointing. There was no coffee, creamer, sugar, Tupperware, foil, spray cleaner, etc. These items have been in every VRBO that I've ever stayed in. There was also some shoddy maintenance done on the window over stairs and the wall behind the door of one of the bathrooms. We had to make our own beds with sheets that barely fit and were bleach stained. Again, really loved this home but also disappointed.

Fun in the sun

Beautiful home!!!! A lot of steps to the lake but so worth it for the amazing view. The only drawback was some dogs running around and coming up on the deck. They were friendly and fortunately there was a gate and we kept it closed. The air conditioning broke while we were there and the owners took care of that quickly and got someone out there to fix it. Would definitely stay here again.
