Relaxing Country Log House on 65 wooded acres

Need space for a family get away, a wedding party, for your golf buddies or for your small group retreat? The beautiful log house in the midst of 65 wooded acres outside Saint Stephen offers space and peace to make this happen. Watch sunsets from front porch, gather for dinners on the deck or relax in front of the fire place - the Log House will not disappoint. The woods surrounding the house offers hiking trails for walks, and deer and turkeys can frequently be seen.

Weekly rentals run Friday to Friday to optimize the weekends.

Please note our caretake lives in a separate structure located 50 yards from the Log House and can be a great resource should you have any questions or concerns during your stay.

A short 10 minute drive, you can visit The Mississippi River Park which offers year around hiking and biking trails, archery range plus cross country skiing trails in the winter all for free. https://www.stearnscountymn.gov/394/Mississippi-River-County-Park

Great Stay
Our family weekend was great. Beautiful surroundings, peaceful and totally relaxing. Saw deer and wild turkeys. Gardens were beautiful. We were able to spend quality time with the newest addition to our family, baby Tyson, born in February.

Staying with family for a wedding
This is a stunning home that was immaculate and inviting! We stayed for our daughter's wedding. There were 3 couples and two single people, and so we needed 5 bedrooms. The only odd thing is that one "bedroom" is really in a sort of hallway, and you need to walk through that room to get to the 5th bedroom. It was a gorgeous place. I wish we had longer to stay!

We loved our stay at the country log house. We were in town for our son’s wedding at the Grands. There was plenty of space for our family to stay. The house is well stocked with pretty much anything you could possibly need. It was so peaceful there and the grounds are absolutely gorgeous!

Graduation Stay
We rented the property to have a place for our families to gather to celebrate a graduation weekend. The cabin is spacious, clean, well cared for, beautiful, and comfortable. The outdoor spaces are plentiful and well kept. This was a perfect spot to gather, relax, and enjoy some peaceful surroundings. We would happily rent here again!!!

Private, secluded, fantastic stay
I stayed here with four buddies for our annual guys trip. We do this every year and this was one of the best experiences we’ve had. The property is secluded so you can sit around the fire and not worry about disturbing anyone. The home was clean and well decorated and had everything we needed. Despite being so secluded it’s still a very short drive to bars and restaurants. I had a few questions ahead of time and the owner always responded quickly and friendly. The home had pots, pans, utensils, aluminum foil, everything we needed. I don’t think there was anything we needed or even wanted that the home didn’t have.

Our favorite happy place
This was our third time staying. We are 6 women who love to play games and cards and laugh. The house has so much room and is always clean and ready for us. This year we were able to use the outdoors and enjoyed the fire pit and the walking trail. We will be going back and won’t even look for a different place to stay.

Cabin is maintained at a high quality level and includes thoughtful amenities. The property is isolated and has lots of trails for walking. Although we were only two people, it looked great for larger groups with private spaces. All in all, a wonderful place, consistent with the description.

Six ladies have been here twice and plan to return in the spring. We are so happy with everything that we only want to stay here. The house is extremely clean and well stocked. The caretaker does an amazing job. The only down side is that it’s so nice we all hate to leave.

Perfect in every way!
This property has it all! Comfortable beds, large rooms and spaces to spread out both inside and out. Generously appointed kitchen with everything we needed. The hosts could not be nicer. We loved the log cabin feel with lovely windows showcasing fall leaves from every angle. We will definitely be back!!! Thanks to the hosts for making our stay so enjoyable.

Exactly as described in the listing. Owners supplied everything we could possibly need. Very clean and well maintained inside and out. Beautiful outside gardens in every direction. Multiple fire pits both wood and gas. Extremely comfortable beds. A peaceful retreat. Would highly recommend.

Our group loved this property & enjoyed our stay. The owner, property manager & on-site caretaker were all easy to work with, kind & very accommodating. Check-in/out was a breeze. The house is lovely & very clean & as other reviews mention, it's well-stocked. The grounds are beautiful; the photos in the listing do not really do it justice. Two things to note (do not mean these as criticisms, just things to know). - The 2 beds upstairs' placement under the eaves makes it hard for a person to get in & out of the bed on that side. We found those beds worked better for just 1 person. Kids and/or younger people may not find this to be an issue & sleep 2 per bed just fine. - The house has many wonderful windows. However, none of the windows had screens on them. Maybe this isn't always the case, just a temporary thing during our stay? Some of the doors throughout the house did have screen doors that we were able to have open to get some air circulation going along with the ceiling fans in the main part of the house & some bedrooms. (The listing also does indicate the house has central A/C; it was cool enough that we didn't need to use it). This certainly wasn't a deal-breaker as most everything else about the house exceeded expectations. It was just unexpected & a bit of a disappointment as it's so peaceful and the grounds are so beautiful you just want to open up all the windows to enjoy it all! Overall, this is a great place to stay!

I’d come back to St Cloud JUST to stay at this property!
We could not have had a better experience staying at this property! This Log home is beautiful and the grounds are equally as stunning. Colorful gardens at every turn, fruit trees and comfortable outdoor seating around fire pits. Wild turkeys crossing the driveway as we entered every day, and fell asleep at night to the sound of frogs off in the distance. Had our coffee in the morning either by the fireplace inside or outside on the rocking chairs. It was truly a relaxing trip. Our kids didn’t want to leave! And neither did we! Would highly recommend this property!
