  • An original 1950 Schoolhouse with its own full sized basketball court! Newly renovated into a comfortable, contemporary home with open plan living featuring a double-sided wood-burning stove.

    On the doorstep of the Wild Atlantic Way, an ideal base for exploring West Clare, from championship golf, to stunning beaches, iconic landmarks such as the Cliffs of Moher, The Burren & Loophead, cliff walks, island trips and food experiences. The perfect getaway for families, golfers & adventurers alike.

    The space
    Catering for up to 6 guests with three double bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms and featuring a spacious open plan Kitchen / Dining / Living room with double-sided wood burning stove, a large dining table and breakfast bar seating, the house is ideal for small groups looking for a Wild Atlantic vacation or to celebrate a special occasion.

    This holiday home has fast wifi, a smart TV and two spacious desks. There is free on-site private parking for several cars and a key to a small garage for storing bikes, golf clubs, wetsuits and all your outdoor gear.

    Many original features of the old school have been lovingly restored - the children's coat hooks that line the corridor, the old quarry floor tiles, the spectacular tall front windows, high ceilings and clerestory windows, framed pages from science books left behind in the little library and the basketball court!

    The Location
    The Schoolhouse is situated 20-25 minutes from Co. Clare’s best beaches (Spanish Point, Kilkee, White Strand Doonbeg, Quilty and many more) and 45 minutes from Clare’s most iconic attractions (Cliffs of Moher, Bunratty Castle & Folk Park, Loop Head, The Burren and so much more).

    Only 15 km (9 miles) to Trump International Golf Links, Doonbeg and 80 km (50 miles) to Adare Manor Golf Club (via Limerick) or 65 km (40 miles) via Killimer-Tarbert Ferry.

    The property is less than a 10-minute drive to the bustling market town of Kilrush, with a large Tesco Superstore, Supervalue and Aldi, several hardware stores, pharmacies, a wine shop, cafes, restaurants and traditional Irish pubs.

    The property is 50km (30 miles) from Shannon Airport and 65km (40 miles) from Limerick City.

    The kitchen comes fully equipped with two full double ovens (one steam oven), a combination oven/microwave, built-in coffee machine, induction hob with down draft extractor fan, wine cooler, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, Quooker tap for instant boiling and filtered water, kettle and toaster. The kitchen is stocked with all necessary delph, cutlery, a variety of glassware, knife block, pizza cutter, a range of pots & pans, baking and roasting trays, measuring jugs, digital weighing scales and many other useful kitchen accessories.

    House Rules
    This is strictly a no-smoking/vaping property, smoking or vaping is strictly not permitted inside the home. Our home has been lovingly restored, this is not a party home, we kindly request that you refrain from hosting parties. You are in a beautiful countryside location but there are neighbours nearby, please refrain from making noise after 11pm. The property is not equipped for pets, please do not bring your pet or any animal inside the home. We respectfully ask that you close all windows and lock all doors when leaving the property. We request that you respect the check-in and check-out times as our cleaning team may have a short window to make the property perfectly guest-ready between stays. Only kiln dried hardwood timber logs should be used in the wood-burning stove, strictly no non-kiln dried wood, softwood or any non-timber fuel such as coal or turf.
