During my recent stay at the hotel, I encountered some challenges with the cleanliness of my room's toilet (literally 💩 in the toilet bowl and its seat). Despite bringing this issue to the attention of the staff, I was initially met with a dismissive response and was informed that I would be charged extra for a room change. The tone of the interaction felt interrogative and unsupportive. However, after expressing my intention to document the condition of the toilet with a video, the staff quickly accommodated my request for a new room. The staff also recorded the video I took and said that it is not acceptable with the management. While I appreciated the eventual resolution, I hope the hotel can improve its responsiveness and customer service approach in similar situations in the future.

It was a nice place close to Mountain Rushmore there were lots of restaurants around and restaurants that were walking distance as well as coffee shops. The rooms in hotel were nice and clean

Be prepared for the train to wake you up at 2 AM and then again at 3 AM. Ask for a room away from the train tracks. Saw some homeless people hanging around nearby but they leave you alone if you keep walking. Room is dated and the air conditioning is a little loud. You are right downtown and it’s easy to walk to all the restaurants. Spent one night and felt it was worth it to be so close to the restaurants. You don’t have to pay to park downtown or fight for a parking spot. Parking at the hotel and walking everywhere makes up for the minor hotel issues.

Room was very dirty. Looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in awhile. Had to clean tops of desk, side tables and bathroom counters. No shampoo or soap in dispensers in shower.

I found that the room was too bright when trying to sleep, both from window light (even with shades down) and from light under the door to the hall. Our experience was unfortunately not great due to drunk people in the hall at 2am. The sound really carried through the doors and we felt we didn’t have much privacy for our own conversations and time together because of the lack of sound barrier.

The elevator had some issues with shutting, but that was resolved after the second day. Some parts of the room needed some touch ups as far as chipped paint and tiles in the bathroom. The overall experience was great though! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful!!!

The hotel warns you upfront that it is a noisy area at night at weekends but you need to be deaf to be able to ignore the night trains that rumble by the hotel with their horns blasting away. Great location to stay --restaurant overpriced for what it offers
