Excellent retreat
It was the perfect three-day respite after a week in KL and before going to Malacca. We had a cottage with a full view of the Malacca Strait that had an excellent breeze going through the entire space. Very comfortable with warm and friendly service.

This is my 3rd time staying in avillion. Will put in point as below:- 1) the property is old lots of maintenance work is needed. Room wifi is weak. 2) The room bedsheet is not clean there are stain. Pillow is too soft. Room toilet needed to repair too. There are ants crawling around 3) restaurant table is old and sticky 4) love the children's friendly hotel vibes 5) the mini zoo is a plus point 6) The friday n sat bar live band is excellent place for relax 7) hotel staff is friendly and try their best to give their best they could. 8) peacock, peahen and rooster walking around the hotel make it so unique point for this resort and love it especially for those which kids

Room is full of ants. Cold water never worked( I reported it, but nothing happened). Black mold in shower. Light by night stand flickering. Maintenance is just horrible. Food was good, staff were nice. Just the bad maintenance which is not expected in a 4 star hotel

Check-in experience - worst! I had 5 nights stay under 3 different bookings. I emailed to the property beforehand to ask combine all the bookings in one room for my convenience because I traveled with a toddler and they acknowledged it. But, upon check-in the staff said no and asked me to move from room to room based on the booking. I went to the check-in counter on the 3rd night for questions as I was not technically check-out from the property. Guess what, the staff asked me why I didn't want to combine the bookings that was too much trouble to move around. I was surprised with them threw me back the question. Ms. Farhana solved the issue and I got to stay in the same room without going through the trouble of moving room to room. Hotel cleanliness - worst nightmare ever! Check-in counter area dirty and full of lizards poops. Room - they gave me a room with full of birds/animals poops - the deck and the bathroom, ants and bugs everywhere, extremely dirty room, no drinking water provided. They changed me another room with a stunning sunset view but that still not able to offset with the dirtiness, ants crawling everywhere, some unknown black dirt/poop on the desk, Dust and dirty in every corner of the room. At least the bed looks white and not causing allergy on my skin. The AC broken on day 3 and we got power outrage. This hotel needs a major refurbishment. Not going back for sure. Lastly, they only had 1 bell boy and the security guard did his job for us.

Did not get a king size bed as per my booking. Instead, i get two single beds even though i have paid extra headcount for the third pax. Room cleanliness is disappointing, surface of the furniture is very dusty with spider web, floor is dirty with hair strands, pillow has a dusty smell. I hope Avillion improves the room cleanliness.

Do not choose/stay in
A major disappointment. The resort is tired, run-down poorly maintained and is not a 4-star luxury resort at all. Mouldy walls, dirt in lights, cracking walls and the room amenities are old and unusable e.g safe did not work properly. Slow room service and not-so-friendly staff outside of the reception. The resort needs to be upgraded. Very low value for money. The stay was not comfortable and not suitable for a beach holiday resort to chill out in.

The views were amazing! The bathrooms had green fungus. Floors dusty and dirty. My comforter had a large stain of God knows what! Only 1 towel provided and toiletries for 2 instead of 3. Comforter for only 2 persons though rooms booked for 3. So many things wrong. Waited nearly 40 mins for our drinks. Unworthy of a 5 star! Made an official complaint. Have photographic evidence of the condition of the 3 rooms I booked.

I'd say this place will need a massive makeover. Parking was great. Front office was warm and loving, in fact Hidayah even upgraded us to a premium chalet. The place has aged for sure but my disappointment was with the chalet. It didnt shout 5 star as it used to be. Paints fading and wooden floors & frames were clearly old. I found lizard in the room and of course its dropping as well. Breakfast buffet was alright. Nasi lemak sambal was good (spicy), Pretty good local and a hint of American options were available

We booked 2 rooms 716 and 715. 715 had bed bugs, large collection of hair and blood stains on the bed sheets. Not responsive only when we pushed things got done. We got another room at 5.20 pm despite our complaint at 2.45,but even that room had ants all over. Totally upset with the management. Next day breakfast, we went at 8am, no coffee and tea because of circuit breaker issue, only got it done at 9. No action plan at all. They could used urns instead. This place is not lighted up at night, need torch lights. My suggestion, close the resort and do a thorough cleaning using professional cleaners. The management should look into refurbishment. You are not cheap after all.

The place is great in terms of design and view. The room is spacious and the bathroom is fascinating, but the facilities inside the room need serious maintenance. The fan cannot be turned off, the electrical switches are not working properly.

good view, but room in bad shape
the room is facing the sea, great view. however the room condition is pretty rundown. the bathroom door can not close properly. i can see dust at the tv, cup and the list go on. the room floor was not clean properly and i step on a tiny sharp object and cut my feet.

Disappointing overall. Stayed here a few years ago. Deteriorated since then. Smelly toilet when we first entered the chalet. Trash in room not taken out before we checked in. Noisy premier water chalet because near public beach. Paid RM850 for it and totally overpriced for the condition of the room. Hotel.com service equally bad. Promised a king room but we got a twin room instead. Shouldn’t have that option when you know it had sold out.

Even though it was mid-week, the place was pack. Still the hotel was able to provide good and prompt service. Overall it was a nice enjoyable one night stay for me. Keep it up!

Book this during mco, although facilities were closed but it doesn’t make sense to close the lounge area which was the most attractive place in this hotel. We requested to only take pictures but was not allowed despite it was included in the booking. Water chalet is nice but there are lots of birds flying around in and out of the chalet which is uncomfortable. Already requested to the property to have 2 single bed and was agreed on phone, however upon arrival was given king bed due to single bed room no longer available. I want to thank porter and restaurant staff who were very helpful with our request.

The hotel room poor maintenance, Wall light and the ceiling lights are not working. we request to change room but was told full house. but actual fact is not. something wrong with this place. will never return again!

Excellent location as a beach resort. The condition of the room is quite poor. Light switches, doors lock broken, furniture worn out. The room and the whole facility seem quite old. Renovation needed urgently.
