This is a 100 year old house or combination of houses that has been configured into a “Boutique Hotel” in my opinion it is a little expensive for what it is or purports to be. First off all down down Point a Pitre isn’t exactly a tourist attraction, granted it was August but there were only two restaurants, we went to the Yacht Club which was ho hum and a walk through a bunch of dark streets, if you aren’t comfortable with that kind of vibe then perhaps tryi something closer although we did not see anything open during our walk on a Wednesday night at 20:00 i was with my 8 yr old son but we live in the Caribbean so it is fine, we saw a Bokit spot around the center square which looked much more lively and fun. The hotel has no elevator so if you are on the second floor and brought your luggage from summer travels you are in for a nice workout. The air conditioning in the room is positioned over the couch not effective for the bed on the other side of the room, a fan over the bed would have been fine, the room has now glass widows to keep the AC inside so it all escapes via the wood shutters not very cool and was not on prior to our arrival to cool the room in advance which would have been nice as it is hot and humid now. The bathroom is like it was 50 or more years ago which i appreciate the style but loose floor tiles dont make sense and an iron tub where i have to sit down to use the shower handle or take a bath is not my favorite, but yes it is a period piece .
