'This is the most beautiful old hotel right in the old city. I had a little trouble finding it as you have to pass through the barriers to get access to the old city. Looking at Google maps, I mistakenly thought access was on the main road. Hristo, the owner, had registered my car details so I was waved through the barrier with no problem. I arrived 15 minutes after the receptionist was supposed to leave but she waited for me. They've gone to a lot of effort to reflect the character of the old...

'We had a truly exceptional stay at Villa Flavia. The hotel was in a superb location, with a very friendly and helpful staff, and wonderful accommodations. The rooms were clean and modern, beds were very comfortable, and breakfast was plentiful. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Plovdiv and would choose it every time ! Check out the tour of the hotel-- it's built on ancient ruins and the hotel staff does a nice job of explaining the history. '

'Fantastische locatie. Aardige mensen en zeer vriendelijk. Ik begrijp dat als je de deur opent en sluit voor elke gast gedurende de nacht dat je zonder goede slaap nukkig kan worden. Ik zou als eigenaar daar een ander slot voor verzinnen. Dit gaat echter niet zonder speciale vergunning omdat het gehele pand een beschermd pand is onder Unesco, lokale en nationale overheid. De kamers zijn uniek en bijzonder om die reden en voldoen volledig aan de moderne vereisten.'
