  • Welcome to this private one-floor house in a quiet residential area. Approximately 650 square feet (60 m2) of space. There is 1 bedroom and 1 full bathroom plus a living room with an additional bed, and a fully functional kitchen with dining table. Convenient and quiet area close to major highways. Not far from Newark Airport (EWR) and New York City. Bus stop for NYC direct bus is 0.8 miles away. Good for single and couples, tourists, traveling workers, interns, etc. No parties, events, or smoking anywhere on the property -- this is strictly enforced.

    You will have access to the entire first floor of the home, including a nice and spacious rear yard area. You will not have access to the basement, which is used by the owner for the owner’s storage.

    This is a quiet, residential neighborhood made up of mostly single-family homes. Downtown Perth Amboy and Downtown Woodbridge are both nearby. Shopping and restaurants also in the nearby area. Major highways are easily accessible and the NJ Transit Bus No. 116 to New York City is 0.8 miles away from the house.

    This house is located in an area close to the Garden State Parkway, NJ Turnpike, Route 1 and Route 9, etc. Driving to the house is quite easy. Please note the house does not have any parking or garage or driveway. Street parking only. The travel time from this house to Penn Station New York is about 1 hour and 15 minutes in total if you use the bus or a combination of bus and train.

    Self check-in and check-out are available. There is a lockbox with keys at the entry door to the building. We will send you the code to the lock box on the day of your arrival. The code will not be sent in advance.

    The check-in window is 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm. If you are planning to arrive after 11:00 pm, you must clear this with us. No one will be available to support you during check-in if you arrive very late at night (after 11:00 pm) and your check in will be entirely self-service at those hours. We will not give any refunds if you have issues checking in after 11:00 pm. There is no luggage storage available at the house.

    There is no driveway or off-street parking. Parking is not included with this rental. You will need to find parking on the street. It is free to park on the street and not too difficult to find a spot. You do not need any permits to park on the street, but you need to check the street cleaning signs. The town cleans the streets once per week and you can’t park on those streets during the street cleaning hours. We cannot be responsible for any parking violations you may receive.

    Please also note that this house is an older house. Some recent guests have arrived with higher expectations than what we can provide given the age of the house. The place looks like the photos in the listing and we keep it clean. It is a basic space with basic amenities. If you are looking for a functional and competitively priced place relatively close to New York City and Newark Airport EWR, this would be a good space for you. If you are looking for a modern and luxury stay, this is probably not the place for you.

    A few things to know before you book:

    To keep our homes safe and welcoming for everyone, all guests complete a quick verification before arrival — we’ll reach out by email or text with the simple steps once you’ve booked, so please complete it before you travel.

    Guests are also asked to either purchase a damage waiver or leave a refundable security deposit, and to sign a short rental agreement. A valid credit or debit card is required; if you’re paying us directly by card, we’ll ask for a photo of the front and back and a signed credit card authorization form, and the name on the reservation, card, and ID should match. Please also have a valid, current government-issued ID ready — if it’s expired we won’t be able to approve the stay, and no refund applies in that case. Additional charges may apply.

    Guests are responsible for bagging all garbage and placing the bags in the bins outside the building, or at the curb, as instructed by the host (host will communicate with guest regarding this).

    If your unit has a thermostat and the thermostat is locked, do not tamper with it or try to break open the lock. Doing so is called vandalism and is highly inappropriate. We will withhold your security deposit if you do this and possible submit for more damages depending on the situation.

    Also, guests must leave the apartment in the condition they found it (e.g. no leftover food, nothing that creates a need for excessive or deep cleaning). Please wash all dishes that you use, remove food that you`ve brought in, and discard all trash. Our cleaning fee is lower than most and it covers basic cleaning tasks like washing of linens and towels, vacuuming, etc. The cleaning fee does not cover deep cleaning, excessive kitchen and bathroom cleaning, etc. Thanks for your cooperation!

    If you check out late, there will be a $100 per hour fee for each hour or fraction of an hour that you stay beyond the check out time.

    If you smoke, use incense, use drugs of any kind (including marijuana and cannabis) anywhere on the property including outside areas and common areas, we will charge a $300 fee. If there are damages related to smoking or drug use, we will charge fees in addition to this $300.
