'The location is remote, peaceful and lovely. It's an old building and full of character with huge, comfortable rooms. All the staff were helpful. Breakfasts were a little limited, but adequate. We didn't enjoy the one dinner we had, but it was good value. Overall I'd recommend this hotel for its excellent value accommodation and location.'

'Really lovely stay for 3 nights. Gorgeous room and bathroom, great friendly staff and good food. Very good value. Train station right across the road. Would definitely stay again.'

'First time we have stayed here. Lovely, clean room and easy to find as we have eaten a few times in Haystacks which is underneath and has amazing food ❤️ lush bed and slept really well and blackout curtains helped with this 😀Shower was amazing. A hidden gem! We will be back 😍'

'Friendly host and very helpful . We would recommend this stay to family and friends.'

'We had a fantastic stay at the butchers arms. They were very friendly and helpful. We had a problem with another hotel and Andrew and his team couldn’t do enough for us. What a lovely place to stay. Very clean place. Bed was super comfy had a fantastic nights sleep. We will definitely stay again if in the area. Thank you Andrew and all the team for looking after us. 😊😊'

'The staff were extremely helpful and friendly especially when I couldn't open the key cabinet. Dinner was quite excellent and reasonably priced. Room was larger than expected but TV reception was patchy and screen kept freezing perhaps due to poor Wi-Fi reception. One thing to remember, they do not have allocated parking - whilst there is a large car park behind it is £2 for 2 hours and £6 for a day but keep in mind the gates are shut from10pm to 8am which is unhelpful when you need to leave...

'Way overpriced for what you get. Old reputation may be good but that must be years ago. Noisy room. No cleaning of rooms when you stay longer than 1 night. Old building. The staff tried to do their best but can not help the problems this hotel has.'

'Excellent accommodation and food at the Pub was also very good.'

'A nice place to stay with friendly helpful staff in a beautiful location. Having family close by this will be our first choice to stay on our many visits.'

'It had everything we needed for a one nights stay. The only thing we couldn’t find was the switch for the heating as we did need to take the chill off now it’s getting cooler. Despite the fire alarm going off and no one knowing what to do at 5am we had a pleasant stay'

'Decent apartment, aimed at long stay I’d guess. Comfy bed No toiletries, would have liked tea, coffee, milk, kitchen roll or something kitchen wise…and a dishwasher rather than a washing machine…but as I say fine for longer stay Also lounge sofa smelt bodyish Good communication though '

'Gelukkig maar één nacht verbleven in dit hotel. Niet gezellig, badkamer ruikt niet fris, oud decor, oud en beschadigd meubilair, flink gat in badkamer deur. Het ziet er niet echt schoon uit. Pluspunten: goede douche, en de bedden en handdoeken waren schoon. Het personeel was vriendelijk. Twee-persoons matras is hard. Eén-persoons bed is ok. Dunne kussens. Full English breakfast is ok. Zag daarnaast niet veel anders dan cereals, cornflakes e.d. In het geheel geen plezierig hotel om in te...

'Very clean quaint cottage. Beautiful! '

'Loved this place.'

'Excellent property and lovely stay. Would absolutely recommend to anyone. Hot tub was immaculate and we were even lucky enough to have some nice weather too! '
