'Have stayed here twice now with 2 kids. The rooms have been immaculate! they accomodate for my 1 yr old with a cot, sheets and blankets. My 8yr old daughter loves that they have sky tv and the gummy lollies in our room on arrival. Staff are very helpful. Enjoyed our stay with Totara Lodge and will definitely be back. Thank you :-)'

'Hotel is typical standard 3-4 star motel with everything you need. Functional, not very romantic. Connections to Wellington are great, 10 mins by car, hotel is only 600 meters away from railway station Petone which also takes you in 15 mins to Wellington ($10 per person back and forth). Pac & Save and fast food nearby. '

'The room was quite cold and a little damp. Blinds were all down so no natural light. One heat pump in lounge so bedroom was cold. Only one blanket on bed with no extras in the cupboard. No Wifi for the kids. No remote for the TV (limited sky TV access - one channel). Cockroach on the wall had to be killed and disposed of. No frying pan when cooking breakfast and no scrubbing brush to clean dishes or dish rack to stack them. Pretty average to poor compared to other places.'

'Located nicely! It’s a really good motel for such a cheap price! Clean rooms and spacious room! Love that it has a parking space for your car as well! Check in is supposed to be till 9pm but we arrived at 10pm - but the owner/manager kindly waited for us to arrive. The kitchennete is so big and had everything! The beds are so comfy and plenty of pillows! They have a big cabinet for you to pur your stuff in and plenty of hangers! Taking off some stars because in our room there was a bad smell...

'As they say - little things count! Positives - lovely location/ setting, great value breakfast Negativities/ fridge didn’t work so milk left for me curdled 🤔, glasses and coffee ☕️ cup selection limited ( $20 at the Sally’s would sort that out ) & no toilet paper 🤔'

'Was good place to stop for early morning check in at the cook straight ferry. Clean and tidy and staff were happy to wait for a late ish check in'

'Prima motel voor een overnachting als je op doorreis bent. De ferry terminal is circa 10 minuten rijden. Dit motel ligt wel vlak langs de SH 2 dat betekent dat je 's nachts redelijk wat verkeerslawaai hebt als je met raam open slaapt.'

'Rustige kamer met aparte slaapkamer en met keuken. Prima bed! Veel tvkanalen, goede wifi, vriendeljk personeel. We vroegen een late check-out en dat was geen probleem.'

'There was no heater and Wtgn can have cold mornings like I had. No hairdryer like most places. And the shower and toilet were in a very enclosed space. Just had to make sure that it was all dry after.'
