We enjoyed staying here! The house is cute and quirky. I felt like I was in Ron Weasleyâs house on Harry Potter! It was a quick walk to town to all of our favorite shops/restaurants. I would stay here again!
Perfect little cottage right on the edge of downtown Ouray. Can walk to multiple restaurants and you have perfect access to the Ouray Perimeter hiking trail. We had a wonderful stay with our pup. Would highly recommend.
Quintessential little log cabin with big bonus area upstairs! We loved this placeâŠit was like stepping back in time but with modern conveniences. The location simply cannot be beat! And whoâd expect to have wonderful frrebie travel size AVEDA products?!? The only change I would make is to Have a larger couch upstairs so you can hang out more comfortably.
We enjoyed our stay! The cabin has the necessary basics and was a perfect location to walk to restaurants and the dog park. The last day there was a bit of a sewage smell that was pretty foul. We let the property manager know, of course. Kids had a great time exploring the snow covered boulders behind the cabin. Overall good stay!
What a lovely home!!! Right in the heart of Ouray walking distance to town, this was a cozy place to stay for a winter vacation. It was warm, with lots of good books. Sitting a bit over town, it had the most beautiful views out the large living room window. I cooked all meals, and I will say it lacked a few basics like coffee filters and maybe a good cast iron skillet as most pans were teflon that appeared old. Wonderful stay overall!
We had a wonderful time and the location was perfect. The cabin was so quaint and and cute. The deck was outstanding and we cooked on the grill a number of times. The town was right there and perfect walking distance. Really enjoyed the Historic hotel right around the corner. Highly recommend it for the bar and dinner. Nice patio also.
We didnât use any towels because I got fooled one time where they said towels were supplied but they werenât. So I always bring my own supply. Also helps you guys with cleaning. We had a rental for 4 years and I know how helpful it is to start a load of towels right before we leave.
All in all it was a great place. Wonderful sunsets from the porch and great people watching.
Once again, the cabin was really nice and cool. The nice room upstairs was also really cool. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay. If weâre back in the neighborhood, weâll definitely stay again. We live in Montana in the mountains and usually take a trip to Colorado at least once a year. 5 stars to you!â€ïžđïž
This VRBO vacation stay was absolutely wonderful as Ouray, Colorado cannot be beat in the summer. Could not ask for better views from the expansive deck. The manager was great! We had a few hiccups with the cabin and she was there for us every time. Our rating is low due to the accommodations. We decided to rename this cabin "the WONKY" cabin. The reason for this is the floors in the main part of the cabin are all wonky leaning every which way nothing was level. It made it extremely difficult to walk in the cabin literally feeling as if you were walking on a ships deck throughout the lower level. The upper level is pretty much inaccessible as the stairs are probably the steepest stairs (more like a very steep ladder) we have ever used. They did do a nice job with the upstairs rehab, but sorry to say those floors in the main part of the cabin need to be leveled for a comfortable stay. Because of it's location on Oak Street which is a by-pass for all the locals the decks get extremely dusty even though they oil the road. It would take some extra work to clean up those decks but it would have been appreciated.
This little cabin was so cute and cozy. It was a very unique property that was perfect for my husband and I. Overall very clean and tidy. Great location!!! Would love to stay here again.
I was very surprised at how well laid out this old cabin was! The use of storage was extremely well thought out and it was stocked extremely well with everything needed. Its old and rustic yet doesnt smell like an old musty cabin. The creeky floors and sloped walls just add to the experience. My 2 boys 17-19) and I will be back they loved this place! Ouray is a great town to visit!
We loved this tiny old cabin. We loved the creaky floors, the walls that slant from age, and the tiny kitchen area that was fully stocked with an amazing display of efficiency. Comfy and cozy.
Great mix of a historic building with modern amenities! Walking distance to downtown and even closer to Mi Mexico (awesome food and service). Walking distance to the perimeter trail.
Just a heads up - if you have a large truck (I have a 1500 Sierra with a crew cab and standard bed) the driveway can be tough to manage. This is not a knock at all, just an FYI.
Loved it, would stay here again!
Overall stay was wonderful. Location was perfect. The only thing I would suggest is to have a laundry basket available. And the deck light was not working. It is really dark back there at night if you wanted to sit in the garden area.
My family stayed here with our two Frenchies. We loved the quirkiness of the wavy floors and the leaning wall in the bedroom. It is restored really well & makes great use of space for something that was built in the 1870âsâŒïžWe loved walking to Main Street & to the hot springs. We even walked to the Box Canyon Falls. It is a little small in the living room area but the upstairs living area helps a lot. Would stay againâŒïž
Cute place, ârusticâ as described. Loved the location and proximity to downtown. We brought an extra fan which really helped to cool the upstairs sleeping area. Teenagers said the upstairs beds were not very comfortable, but our queen bed on the main level was comfortable and I slept well. Bathroom was well stocked with towels and appreciated the products provided. Access to the perimeter trail just down the road across from the RV campground. Only negative was that there really wasnât space for all four of us to sit and watch TV together. Others might say âyouâre in Ouray, go outside!â We spent lots of time outdoors hiking, taking in the sights, hot springs, shopping, eating at local restaurants. The vrbo even has an impressive movie selection (DVDs), but the living room couch only seats two people! So kind of impossible for a family of four to gather together. Also would have been nice to have some throw blankets in the living room for chilly mornings and evenings. It was a nice stay, but we would look for something different in the future.
