Great place to stay! Plenty of room & lots of seating areas. We have already told others about this place and would consider another trip here. If you are looking for a quiet peaceful get away this is your place for it!

A very lovely rustic cabin. We sat on the very large deck as often as we could. The kitchen had everything we needed for a week's stay. A few things could use updating.

Pleasant Gathering on the River

This very pleasant cabin on the river provided us with lots of room and comfort as we gathered from across the country to attend some business and family meetings. We were pleased to find a place we could all stay together. Most of our time was spent away from the cabin but it was nice to relax there at the end of the day.

Beautiful property

The owner has done absolutely everything and more to make this a top vacation spot. Interior has an amazing log cabin feel, cozy, rustic, and welcoming. Everything you could need. Check in and out was easy, and although it was too cold to be outside much. it’s easy to see that there’d be a lot of options with a fire pit, grill, and steps down to the river. Place felt spacious and homey. 5 stars overall, although be aware that the neighboring properties are very close, so might not be as much privacy in summer months when people are outside, and some of the neighbors are displaying large and prominent political signs, which may make it hard to relax for anyone trying to switch off and get away from the world. None of that is the owners fault though- important to reiterate that the property itself is as good as it gets on Vrbo.

Getaway cabin

Loved the house great location and bigger than the pictures show. Would highly recommend it.One thing I would say the one ply tissue needs to be upgraded.:) enjoyed the gas fireplaces and fire pit. Thank you for making our Christmas so memorable.

Cozy Thanksgiving

This was a cozy place to spend Thanksgiving weekend after visiting family in Rockford. I was craving the crackle and pop of a wood burning fireplace and arrived with plenty of firewood. The fireplace is GAS which was a surprise. Besides that minor let down it was a comfortable weekend and the river is beautiful. Great shower, good kitchen. It was frigid during our stay so we didn't get to take of advantage of the parks in the area, but there are plenty of options for outdoor activities nearby. Next time :)

Ladies Retreat

Our stay at the Getaway Cabin was a delightful experience. The beauty surrounding the Cabin was overwhelming. The sunrise and sunsets on the river were miraculous! The home was just as extraordinary! It was charming and cozy! We had everything we needed! The kitchen and coffee bar space was a main gathering area for us as well as the outdoor kitchen area. We had a group of 9 ladies, spending the weekend together for a spiritual retreat. We had plenty of intimate spaces to gather together in conversation and fellowship indoors and outdoors. There was also more than enough space for each of us to find our own little spot when we needed some quiet time. It was a joyful and peaceful getaway. We can not recommend the Getaway Cabin, highly enough. We are already making plans to return next year!

Great place to stay! Clean, comfortable, and such a cozy feel. So fun to spend time overlooking the river. We had 7 adults in our group and it was great. Would absolutely stay there again.

Celebration of life

Wonderful cabin and decor . Fit all our needs. Enjoyed all the space and seating outside, fire pit. The views and lots of fishing . The pictures of the inside are dark and don’t do it justice . Fantastic main bathroom and shower . Cozy and comfortable. Would definitely recommend and stay again if needed .

Get-away Cabin on the Rock

We enjoyed 3 nights at the Getaway Cabin which was rustic and relaxing in a beautiful location along the Rock River. We are all advacing in age (in our 70's) and had a little trouble navigating the open staircase. The beds were very comfortable but one was very high off the floor and hard to get into (we got a step-stool after the first night and solved that problem.) All in all, it was a fun and relaxed environment and well-equipped to satisfy all our needs. We enjoyed our visit very much!

Cozy Cabin

Beautifully decorated cabin, really got you in the river vibe! Very comfortable with plenty of beds & living space. Wonderful deck and view of the river. We kayaked the Rock River and were able to end our run right at the cabin's dock, really fun day. Highly recommend this cabin, we are talking about coming back another time!
