The Whale Watcher- 3rd story Condo with Ocean Views & Private Beach Access!

Get away from it all or stay connected to it all in this wonderful condo. This condo is great for a romantic getaway or a fun-filled family vacation. Enjoy the view of the waves washing up on the beach or the white water washing over the offshore rocks. Watch otters, whales, seagulls, pelicans, fishing boats, and the occasional surfers.

This is a great home base for all that the Southern Oregon Coast has to offer. You can jump right onto the coast hiking trail from the condo for hours of hiking exploration. Rent kayaks for a river or ocean trip.

Charter a boat for a great fishing experience with a local guide, or try your hand for Surf Perch right from the beach. There are days worth of hiking and beach trails all within 20 min from home.

When you are ready to come in from the great outdoors this condo greets you with superior amenities. Stay connected with high-speed Wi-Fi (bring your own laptop). Enjoy your favorite TV shows, sports teams, and movies on the high-definition flat-screen TV located in the living room. Light a toasty fire and grab a good book or a loved one and snuggle up for a quiet evening.

June 2025 Whale Watcher Condo

We had a lovely, two-night stay at the Whale Watcher Condo. The location was convenient and easy to find. It was outside of town, but close enough to get to stores and restaurants. It was an easy commute to the Redwoods! The view from the third floor was AMAZING! It was quiet, clean and had everything we needed. We loved having beach access and also being able to sit on the balcony at night to listen to the waves and watch the stars come out. We hope to come back someday.

Quiet and remote with amazing ocean views - yet only a few miles from Brookings

Roomy and comfortable condo with an absolutely amazing view of Rainbow Rock beach. The place was quiet and felt kind of remote even though in reality you were only a few minutes' drive into Brookings and all the stores and restaurants. The only downside was the decor is a bit dated. Everything is clean and well kept, but the decor, bathrooms and kitchen appliances could all do with an update.

Thank you for sharing your piece of heaven! We absolutely loved the private walk to the beach at low tide—especially discovering the cave and spotting starfish. It was such a peaceful and special experience. The condo was well stocked.For future guests, here are a few of our favorite spots and recommendations:•Breakfast: We went to Mattie’s Pancake House every morning. Highly recommend!•Dinner & Drinks: We had drinks at Wicked Pig—great atmosphere—while waiting for our table at Pacific Sushi and Grill. The sushi and grill dinner there did not disappoint.•Fine Dining: Black Trumpet Bistro is a must. The lobster was to die for.•Steak Lovers: Warriors Bar and Grill at Elk Valley Casino served up an excellent steak dinner, and we enjoyed watching the elk nearby.•Skip This One: Catalyst Seafood didn’t live up to the hype—food quality didn’t match the prices.Nature & Adventure Highlights:•The Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor was breathtaking. If you’re adventurous, start your trip with the Natural Bridges Viewpoint—I would have hiked it if I were 20 years younger!•Don’t miss the Secret Beach (pulls up on google maps), Harris Beach State Park, and Whaleshead Beach.•Chetco Point Park is an absolute 5-star spot.•We also visited Trees of Mystery for about 2.5 hours—such a fun and memorable stop and Redwood National and State Parks (a must see).Hope this info helps your next guests plan an amazing stay. Our family loved this property. The views are unbeatable. Our kids loved exploring the beach at low tide. It is clean and comfortable. Well-equipped. Very close to Samuel Boardman, and very easy to explore the area from this rental.The check-in instructions could use editing for inconsistencies and inaccuracies, but our questions were answered by the friendly rental company team.

This is our second time staying at this property in the last five years. We love the views and comfort of this suite. We were very happy with the amenities provided and that they all worked. Spacious condo with beautiful views. The path to the beach is steep but manageable in sandals. Kitchen and baths were dated but functional. Short distance from town. The wifi and tv didn't work, but after speaking with the property manager they provided us a discount. Wish there were more games or cards to play in the evenings since the tv didn't work. The one deck of cards provided was missing the 8 of diamonds. Would stay here again.

Beautiful view and great location!

We stayed at the Whale Watcher for 5 nights and the condo was tastefully decorated and located within an easy drive to the Oregon Redwoods. The condo is closer to a road than we thought it would be from the pictures so there was road noise we hadn’t expected but it was a minor issue for us as we could still hear the waves and the noise wasn’t noticeable at night. We are already planning to come back to this property!

Fabulous Views!

Lovely condo! Well equipped and appointed, with the most incredible views of the ocean. Clean, and ready and good communication. Great location, close to Brookings. It is a third floor WALKUP, and the trail to the beach is Not for the faint of heart or anyone with difficulty hiking. We were two women in mid-70’s, who made it down and up once! But chose to drive to the beach after that! But the Cave and Rainbow Rock, on the very private beach, made it worth the trip down (an up, up, up).

Spectacular Views

This condo offered spectacular views and a long path down to a private beach. The cave at Rainbow Rock was amazing, but check for low tides before exploring. Condo was as described. Bathrooms were clean and the bed in the MB was very comfy. The living room and lookout areas were great, especially since it started raining the minute we arrived! Plenty of games and books to choose from - we played a lot of chess while waiting for the rain to pass. Kitchen was well-stocked but missing the essential tools for eating the wonderful Dungeness crabs that are available fresh from the harbor. Our only real disappointment was that the kitchen cabinets, which have no handles and are spring-loaded to open, were quite dirty with lots of greasy finger prints. All-in-all, it was a GREAT weekend!
