We typically celebrate my birthday at Ocean Shores and have had over a decade of experiences with lodging there. Two years ago, we stayed canal-front one section over from this one. Last year we were beach front on Damon Point. This house is in an ideal location for quick access to the restaurants at Oyhut and we’re Damon Point still open to the public, the location is perfect. It is directly across from a public boat launch, and this canal ends in a cul de sac so the algae bloom is more pronounced. The outdoor spaces are great with a fire pit, a nice bench, deck chairs and extra chairs available. The dock looks great but has several rotten boards so you really need to watch your step. The house is well appointed although as another review noted only foil is provided so if you need baggies, bring your own. There was a standard coffee pot and a Keurig with K cups provided. There was plenty of sweet and low, but only two packets of sugar for four adults for three days. Just more things to remember to bring for yourself. There were plenty of bath towels available but only one set out in each bathroom so we had to search for the stash. Loved the games provided, and the karaoke machine was a nice addition. The beds are the least favorite thing about the house. Not great for back injuries. Last but not least… we appreciated the blackout curtains. With the sauna and ice bath business next door, it was good to shut out the outside world at bedtime.
