Let's start with the funny smell in the room when we arrived, and then the detail of waking up with ants crawling in the bed. The funny smell turned out to be a very toxic chemical that was sprayed (hotshot) liberally in the room before arrival to control the ant problem. Even so, the ants persisted crawling all over our luggage.
Most disturbing was a truckload of men in the parking lot who were there when we arrived at 8 pm, and who were still there when we checked out prematurely at 10 am. By then they were extremely inebriated, dancing shirtless and blasting explicit music. We also witnessed them peeing in the parking lot. The worst of it was when we asked about this at the front desk. The gentleman working there was extremely dismissive when we (as two women) expressed that we felt unsafe. His main response was to simply ask if the men had directly approached us. Our feeling was that it could turn into a dangerous situation. Do we, or other travelers, have to be physically hurt before action is taken by the hotel? We asked if he felt that this was acceptable behavior and were again dismissed. I strongly recommend that you think twice about staying here.
