Terrible Terry.
We arrived around noon on the day for our check in. We were let inside the property, and then told that the two rooms we had booked and paid for were rented out to somebody else, it was a group of people who had booked all rooms it seamed. Another couple arrived just after us, and they were given the same message as us. The man we spoke to suggested that we spent some nights in another guesthouse, and came to stay at Terry’s Villa after that. He had to consult with his boss, Tabitha, to find out how many nights the group had booked, and when we could come back. As we travelled with two kids, this all suonded dodgy, and we started to search online for other options i Nungwi/Kendwa. This was rather impossible, as this was the day before new years eve.The man in Terry’s villa said he would find a place for us, and that he would take us there. We agreed on a hotel. We asked him if they really had available rooms. (Sold out when we checked online) He said yes, we waited for another hour in the heat, and then he took us there by var. The hotel where we thought we were going to stay was fully booked, and we drove on for two to three hours, as he told us he would find us a place. Then we gave up, and booked a hotel in the part of Zanzibar that we came from and took a taxi back there.
For all we know Terry’s Villa is a lovely place to stay. I just wouldn’t risk it.
We are waiting for a refund.
