Escape to a peaceful waterfront retreat surrounded by mature trees with direct river access and 2 kayaks ready for your stay. Spend your days kayaking, fishing, exploring nature, or enjoying a quiet picnic by the river. Bringing a boat or PWC? Make the most of the waterfront setting before returning home to soak in the hot tub, enjoy game night, or cozy up by the fireplace.

Guests can enjoy their freedom to check-in and check-out easily with keyless entry. Although I will personally not be greeting you at the house, I will be happy to help with anything before, during and after your stay. I am easily accessible all times via the app, text and email. When you book, I will be sending you the house manual which has my personal recommendations for restaurants, activities to do in the neighborhood.

You're sure to enjoy the winding views of the Iowa River from this scenic property. When you want to be out on the water you can easily rent a watercraft from Coralville Lake Marina, 10 minutes from the home or Scales Pointe Marina, only a 15-minute drive from this home. If you have your own boat, the Mehaffey Boat Ramp is just 2 minutes from the property . We
have couple Kayaks and paddleboards that you can use for free. Additional Kayaks and stand-up paddle boards can also be rented at Lake McBride State Park just 15 minutes away!

We often go swimming in the lake or the riverbed and feel completely safe doing so. Note that the riverbed is rocky. The short trail from the house to the riverbed has a gentle slope, except for the last portion, depending on the water level. There are 2 public sand beaches within 5 mins of the house that may be better suited for infants or small kids.

Enjoy road biking on the recently built Mehaffey Bridge Road trail or shred dirt on miles of mountain biking trails at Sugar-bottom state park just 5 minutes from the property. During the winter months, this is an excellent trail for cross-country skiing or snowmobiling. Just across the river, Suggarbottom State Park and Lake McBride State park offer excellent snow-shoeing trails!

Satisfy the history buffs with a trip to the seven villages of the Amana Colonies located a 30-minute drive west of this property. Settled in the 1850s, these unique villages deliver historic mid-western charm paired with modern shops, cafes, and restaurants suitable for all ages. Visit the downtown Hancher Auditorium, University of Iowa, performance hall hosting Broadway musicals, contemporary dance & classical music.

Opt for a post-millennial urban landscape when you take a 20-minute drive into downtown Iowa City. Attend a Hawkeyes game or tour the University of Iowa campus before dining at a gourmet restaurant near the Old Capitol Town Center.

This is also an excellent place for working professionals, traveling nurses visiting Cedar Rapids businesses and hospitals.

🏡 Property Condition
Please note that the property currently has some deferred maintenance and cosmetic items. These do not affect the safety of the home, but you may notice signs of normal wear and some areas that have not yet been updated. Please keep in mind that the listing photos may not reflect every aspect of the property's current condition.
We are planning renovations beginning in early summer 2027, and our pricing has been adjusted to reflect the property's current condition.
Despite these items, the home is a wonderful place to enjoy the water, views, hot tub, and quality time with family and friends.

Parking 🚗: Maximum of 3 vehicles, including visitor vehicles. Please do not block neighboring driveways. Additional parking is available up the street; see the Guidebook for details. Vehicles exceeding the limit or blocking neighbors driveways may be towed at the owner's expense.

Hot Tub ♨️: The hot tub is cleaned and treated after every stay, with the water fully changed at least monthly or as needed. Following treatment, the water may temporarily appear cloudy or have a slight brown or green tint for up to 12–24 hours. This is a normal part of the treatment process. If the hot tub requires a full water change, heating the fresh water to the desired temperature may take up to 48 hours depending on weather conditions. If the hot tub is unavailable due to necessary maintenance, a partial refund may be offered at our discretion.

Pets 🐾: Well-behaved pets are welcome. A $200 non-refundable fee applies per pet, with a maximum of 2 pets allowed. If you plan to bring more than 2 pets, please contact us in advance for approval. Additional pets may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Propane 🔥: The propane tank is provided on an honor system, as usage varies during each stay. If the tank needs to be refilled or exchanged during your stay, you may do so at a nearby gas station. Please keep your receipt and send it to us for reimbursement.

Security Cameras 👁️: There are 6 exterior cameras covering the parking area, entry stairs, rear/grounds, patio/rear entrance, deck stairs, and river dock. Cameras are active 24/7 and may record. There are no cameras inside the home. Two indoor noise monitors measure noise levels but do not record audio. Motion, door/window, smoke, carbon monoxide, and humidity monitors are also present.

Cobwebs 🕸️: Due to the property's location near the water, cobwebs may appear more quickly, especially during summer. We clean them regularly, but they may reappear during your stay.

Neighbor Signage: Our neighbor has posted “No Trespassing” and “Renters Go Away” signs to discourage trespassing and protect their property boundaries. Please respect their property and remain within the designated areas of our rental.
