Cabin1 - A beautiful log cabin in the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountains

Cabin1 is an authentic log cabin, perfect for your tranquil mountain get-away. Located in Nordegg, AB in a semi-private wooded area, it is a great base for your Rocky Mountain adventures. Enjoy a campfire, glimpse wildlife (deer, owl, elk - and many other animals), and breathe the fresh air. It's all happening at Cabin1!

The log cabin is self-contained with a full kitchen and bath and a traditional cast iron wood stove in the sitting area completes the cozy mountain ambience.

Boasting over 400 sqft (37 m2) of living space on the main floor and an additional open loft sleeping area with 2 beds; one king and one queen, the cabin is designed for one or two guests but may accommodate up to four guests.

There is also a BBQ and an exclusive outdoor fire pit for your enjoyment. Walking trails to nearby Shunda meadows begin right at your doorstep!

Amenities:

​Kitchen – Complete with a full-size refrigerator/freezer, range/oven, and microwave. A coffee maker (Keurig) and standard coffee and tea supplies are provided, as well as many small kitchen appliances. Other kitchen equipment includes; a basic set of cookware, utensils, serve ware, cutlery and place settings.
Bathroom – A private bathroom includes a standard size tub/shower, vanity sink and toilet.

​Other Information:

The Nordegg area is underserviced by modern standards when it comes to the internet. Therefore wi-fi is not available on site but can be accessed at the library downtown.
Pets - with apologies, pets cannot be accommodated inside Cabin1.
Housekeeping is self-catered - Daily housekeeping is available upon request for an additional fee.
Parking – Ample parking is available.

Relaxing getaway

We stayed in the Cabin 1 for three days and used it as a base for exploring the David Thompson Country. The location was perfect for easily reaching many highlights of the area. This trip was a last-minute decision, and we were surprised that we were able to find any accommodation on a long weekend, and now after experiencing the cabin we are even more surprised that it was available! The cabin was gorgeous, exceptionally clean, cozy, and had everything you might need, and more. You can just tell that the owners care for the space and wish to provide their guests with the best experience possible. We especially enjoyed sitting out on the patio relaxing to the sounds of nature and observing deer that frequently strolled by. I have a feeling that we'll be back soon!

Great stay in the mountains

Property was great, clean and comfortable. Hosts were easy to deal with. Enjoyed the wood burning stove on cool evenings. Great base for some hiking. Trails in Nordegg are less well marked than other parks we have been in - but that is no reflection on this property. Whole family had a great time. Would definitely stay again if in Nordegg.

Lovely getaway log cabin

This cabin is lovely and well taken care of. The photos do not do justice to this little gem. Owners keep it very clean and pay extra attention to details to ensure a comfortable stay. Loved every minute of our stay.

Beautiful Cabin for a quiet getaway

We have stayed in Cabin 1 twice now and have had a great experience both times. The cabin is very clean and well equipped! The location is perfect, a quick drive to many area attractions, streams, rivers, hikes, etc. We would definitely recommend the lovely cabin to anyone!

We were very happy with our stay and would 100% stay again. The place is incredibly beautiful and emactulately kept. I have never seen a place so clean! New Years Eve get away.

What a wonderful cabin !! One of our best places we have stayed. The cabin has all one needs to enjoy their time here. The space is well set up and cozy with a wood stove and heated slate floor. Winter is so beautiful here in the mountains. New Years Eve was magical with great fireworks in Nordegg. We enjoyed our hike up Coliseum Mountain and going out to see the bubbles on Lake Abraham. If you are going to Nordegg I highly recommend this cabin.

Absolute perfection in every way

We could not have enjoyed our Bookcation here more. Perfect spot to cozy up with a stack of book in front of the beautiful indoor wood stove. I am incredibly picky and could not find fault with anything! The cleanliness is 100% impeccable. The kitchen is gorgeous and so well appointed - even the larger cooking utensils were perfectly laid out and so tidy. No detail was spared and the owners were easy to communicate with if we had a question. Thank you so much! Will absolutely be back and have already recommended to friends and family.

Cabin 1 is absolute luxury!

The cabin is a gem, we are so glad we took a trip to Nordegg. The pictures online do not do it justice. The cabin is extremely clean and is stocked with everything you need for a relaxing, unplugged vacation. The kitchen has all the dishes and pots that you need to prepare your meals (even a blender!). Just bring food, board games and a good book for a perfect family vacation. Nights in Nordegg are so quiet and the beds are very comfortable – we can’t remember the last time we slept so well! The area has many trails and activities. We hiked Crescent Falls and Siffleur Falls, went horseback riding and took a helicopter ride to the top of the world. I highly recommend visiting Nordegg and staying at Cabin 1! We can’t wait to go back.

Amazing!

We loved our stay at Cabin 1 and it is exactly as advertised. The comfy beds, and woodburning stove, combined with in floor heating made our time in the cabin very cozy and good for a winter Rockies escape. The kitchen is well equipped with all needed provisions. Highly recommended!
