Grandfather Nest is a two-bedroom retreat in Linville designed around the mountain setting. Spend the morning with coffee on the upper deck, come back from a day of hiking or skiing and relax in the private hot tub, then settle in by the fireplace or take the telescope outside on a clear night.

Upstairs, the vaulted wood ceiling and large windows make the mountains the backdrop to the open living room, dining area, and kitchen. Sliding doors lead directly to the upper deck, where outdoor seating gives you a great place to take in the view. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need for meals at home, and there is also a half bath on this level.

Downstairs, you’ll find two bedrooms, a full bathroom, laundry, and access to the lower deck. The primary bedroom has a queen bed, while the second bedroom has a full-over-twin bunk, allowing the home to sleep up to five guests comfortably.

Outside, both levels have their own deck, giving you plenty of room to enjoy the wooded mountain setting. The private hot tub sits on a patio beside the house. On clear nights, bring out the telescope and look at the stars and moon.

When you’re staying in, there’s plenty to do beyond enjoying the view. The house has a fireplace, foosball, board games, fast WiFi, and a dedicated workspace. Cook dinner in the full kitchen, unwind by the fire, play a game, or simply relax in the living room with the mountains outside the windows.

Guest access is via a smart lock on the front door, and clear arrival instructions are provided before your stay.

The location puts you in the mountains of Linville while still keeping you close to the area’s hiking, skiing, restaurants, cafés, and other High Country attractions. Grandfather Mountain and the surrounding Blue Ridge scenery are right outside your window, with plenty to explore within a short drive.
