'Hotel was already know to us and knew hotel is old and not more than 3 Stars but close to the location we needed to be in Newark. We arrived midnight and got an upgrade which was highly appreciated. '

'Staff was great. Bar/small restaurant is a bit too brightly lit but the people there were very nice as well. Fun fellow guests during the World Cup. The hotel is directly across from the downtown Newark Penn Station so it is very convenient for travelers.'

'I booked this place months in advance. The day of, the host sends me a message to call him to discuss the reservation. He provides no phone number. After looking and finding the number, I call him. He tells me there is an issue with the 'tenant' and the location has changed. I ask him if the new place is compatible and he assures me it is. He tells me he will send the new location shortly. It is now about 9:40am. Noon time comes around and I have not heard back from him so I message again....

'It's a nice looking property from the outside but not in the best of neighbourhoods. The smoke detector on the 2nd floor didn't have a cover on it so not sure if it worked. I had to ring the owner up at 23.00 as I couldn't get the front door opened. You had to pull the handle as you entered the door code.'

'BEWARE!!! This was terrible. It’s not a hotel by any means. Located in a bad neighborhood, there is no one there to greet you. We stood on a rotting porch for 15 minutes after ringing the ring doorbell only to be told someone would be there in 2 minutes. The smoke alarm dead battery screech coming from inside told me enough. I was asked to text a copy of my ID to some random number with no clue who would have access to my private information. The booking was “non-refundable”. After 20 plus...

'Worst hotel experience of our lives and I have traveled a LOT! The hotel front desk- Phylis- was the most unprofessional, hateful, rude, and nasty individual we have ever come across. For no valid reason she refused to allow us to check in. But she then still charged us. At 1 am in the morning a group of 5 were denied our pre-paid rooms. This included an 85 year old, a disabled 72 year old, a 68 year old, a visually impaired person, and a child. We were left to scramble to find rooms...
