Steenhard bed, veel wakker door rijdend verkeer. Ontbijt matig (geen spek met ei, geen vers fruit). Dit was het minst goede hotel van onze 5 hotels. We zouden het niet meer kiezen. Maar voor een drie sterrenhotel redelijk.

modest but central
We hebben hier een prima verblijf gehad, de kamer was ruim en schoon, stil (achterkant van het gebouw). Het ontbijt was prima. De dames aan de receptie waren zeer behulpzaam en vriendelijk. Het enige dat we achteraf ons realiseerden is, dat we een kamer hadden geboekt zoals op de foto, maar zo'n kamer kregen we niet. Wij kregen een meer saai uitziende kamer, maar naar ons idee was die wel groter. Dus we hebben niet lopen klagen. Wellicht hebben we iets niet helemaal goed begrepen bij de uitleg.

Leuk hotel erg schoon
Hebben een leuke vakantie gehad veel gezien. De auto kun je iets verder op pakeren voor €10 per dag. S avonds is er niet zo veel te beleven in dit plaatsje.

leuk hotel dicht bij de historische site Herculane
Zeer behulpzaam personeel in de lobby. Fantastische shuttle-service. Mooie kamer. Goed ontbijt, alleen spijtig dat er geen bacon and eggs was bij het ontbijt. De buurt is wat verouderd, maar daar kan het hotelniets aan doen. Al bij al fantastische ervaring gehad.

fijn hotel en goede openbaar vervoer mogelijkheden
We vonden het een aangenaam hotel. Zeer vriendelijk personeel en schone kamers. Met openbaar vervoer ben je zo in Napels. Ook Vesuvius en Pompeii is gemakkelijk te bereiken. Lekker ontbijt! Alleen het eten in het restaurant viel erg tegen. ( opgewarmd in magnetron). In de directe omgeving liggen echter meerdere restaurants.

Perfect place to stay near the Roman ruins
My daughter (12 years) and I stayed in this lovely hotel for 3 nights to visit the old Roman towns in the bay of Naples. We were pleasantly surprised to find our hotel so close to the Roman ruins of Herculaneum; directly at the entrance!!! We booked a room without window, since this was the only available room by that time. But upon arrival the staff member (Luca) arranged a better room for us; with a balcony directly looking at the Roman town and the sea! Thank you very much for that!!! It made our stay so much nicer! All the staff members in this hotel do their very best to make your stay pleasant. The garden/terrace is a lovely place to sit and relax in the evening. The restaurant serves delishous food. Breakfast is served in a cosy and light breakfast room with open windows letting the sea breeze in and with a view to the sea and capri. If you need any help with transportation or booking a nice tour, the staff members can arrange everything for you! If your looking for a nice place to stay to visit the beautiful ruins of Herculaneum and Pompeii (20 minutes by train, station only 10 minute walk from the hotel) or the Vesuvius, we can really recommend Hotel Herculaneum!!!

Gezellig klein hotel, tegenover Herculaneum
Een lief hotelletje, verstopt tussen winkeltjes, met super vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel, op 100 meter van Herculaneum. Zeer bijzonder om uitzicht te hebben op deze overblijfselen van de uitbarsting van de Vesuvius in het jaar 79. Echter wel aan een drukke straat. Dus bij druk verkeer kan je daar in sommige kamers wel wat van horen. Goede airco, nette badkamer, kleine minibar waar je ook je eigen drankje in kwijt kunt. Om de hoek zit een heerlijke ijssalon, pin, enkele winkeltjes en een Eurospin supermarkt. De shuttleservice naar stations, parkeergarage (voor je auto) en bushaltes is ook super geregeld met Enrico. Goede uitvalsbasis voor uitstapjes naar Vesuvius, Pompeii en Sorrento. Meta en Piano di Sorrento hebben leuke strandjes en strandtentjes en je kunt een bootje huren om naar Capri te varen. Erg leuk! 5 dagen genoten!

Prima hotel!
Hotel ligt vlakbij ingang Herculeum. Naar het station is het ongeveer een kwartier lopen en daarna is het circa twintig minuten met de trein naar station Garibaldi, waarna de metro genomen kan worden om in de stadsdelen te komen. Koop een voordelige Arte Card! Het personeel van hotel Herculeum is zeer hulpvaardig en vriendelijk. Een prima ontbijt en lekkere koffie zijn mooi meegenomen. Prijs kwaliteit verhouding klopt! De service staat hoog in het vaandel. Er kan ook geparkeerd worden mocht je een auto huren. Dit kost dan 8 euro per nacht en is een redelijke prijs. Zou dit hotel zeker aanbevelen!

It’s a unique place because it is right across from Herculaneum, if that is all you want to do. It didn’t seem very safe, and there is not really much else to do. Nothing special, needs updating in general.

This is a great little hotel. There is a little more wear and tear than the photos suggest, but the hotel is incredibly clean and clearly well cared for and my room was very comfortable. The rooftop patio area is absolutely fantastic, and the location couldn't be better for a visit to Herculaneum. I found the staff utterly wonderful to deal with.

Such lovely staff and always so helpful with information on how to get around amd places to visit. Perfect location, literally just across the street from the roman ruins of Herculaneum, a short walk to the royal palace of Portici, and 2 train stations where you can easily get trains to Pompeii in 20 minutes, and Sorrento or Salerno in an hour and then on to the wonderful day trips along the Amalfi coast by bus or boat, and also to Naples in 20 minutes. Highly recommend

Confortevole ma la pulizia lascia a desiderare
In generale è stata un’esperienza positiva. Ho trovato solo due punti negativi. Il primo è che la camera ed il balcone ad essa annesso non erano stati puliti bene, ho trovato capelli sul letto e cenere a terra e sul tavolino nel balcone. Il secondo punto è che esattamente dietro al comodino accanto al letto c’è la possibilità di collegare solo una cosa ( o il telefono per farlo caricare o la lampada da comodino ) poco confortevole. Inoltre tutti i mobili erano leggermente impolverati. Per il resto una notte molto tranquilla.

Location and so much more!
Staying in Ercolano and at this hotel was a very fortunate decision.Driving to Ercolano to stay, we were driving and avoided any confusing traffic. (We chose a, January visit which was a really good idea.) This hotel has parking a block away, which you arrange by contacting the front desk staff. They are friendly, helpful and speak English well. The hotel is directly across Hurculaneum! Our room (201)looked over the front gates. Clean hotel, not fancy schmancy, but comfortable. Excellent price, and of course, off-season. I ssuggest staying a few days... Hurculaneum one day, and train to metro to Naples and the Archaeological Museum. Train station is an 8 minute walk away, and takes you to Garibaldi/Central station, with Metro L1 to stop Museo. ( Metro was beautifully clean). Hotel also has beautiful outside area for breakfast and lounging, but didn't relax long enough to enjoy. Next time! Having trouble uploading photos. Too bad. Have some good ones.

The room was very small. Could barely walk around the bed and was worn. Frig didn't cool. Not what we expected from photos. The front desk lady was rude. The maid and food service staff were great and the breakfast was nice. The location right across from the ruins was perfect. Noisy at night with fireworks. It had lots of stairs and no view.

The property itself was fine. A bit outdated and older. Overall perfect for what we needed. Not the cleanest place and the area was not very busy and not well lit at night. It did not feel unsafe though. The area was not easy to get around without a car. My biggest issue is with Expedia as what we booked was not what we recieved at the site and ended up having to pay more than we already paid because our booking didn't match the actual property.
