Accueil très chaleureux de la part de Thomas qui est un hôte disponible et très sympathique. Environnement calme et agréable. Beaucoup d'espace dans la maison et le jardin, la maison est confortable et bien équipée. Paradis pour les enfants avec la multitude de jeux à leur disposition! Nous avons passé un très bon séjour en famille.

Good stay

Thomas was a very welcoming and kind host with lots of little touches. The accommodation is great and well equipped, with lots of games for the children. We were a family of 8 and we all enjoyed the stay. We took advantage of the gas bbq. I highly recommend this accommodation.

Idéal pour toute la famille !

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour chez Thomas ! Nous étions 3 familles avec des enfants de 10 mois, 3 et 4 ans et la maison est très bien adaptée et confortable pour les enfants comme pour les adultes. Le jardin est grand et bien entretenu, il y a des jeux pour l'intérieur et l'extérieur pour tous, les balançoires et le tipi ont été très appréciés. La piscine est bien sécurisée et agréable. Le BBQ au gaz et la plancha super pratiques. C'est une maison dans laquelle nous reviendrons avec plaisir, Thomas est un super hôte, merci encore pour toutes vos attentions et votre gentillesse !

Excellent stay in beautiful property with exceptionally hospitable host

The house and backyard are beautiful, comfortable, very functional, and they’re even better than they look in the photos. It was an absolutely perfect stay for 3 adults, a toddler, and a dog (with extra room to spare). The exceptionally kind host Thomas (Mossy) has everything you might need on hand, including multiple cribs and baby gates, toys and books, a wide variety of cooking utensils, and more. He even kindly offered the toddler of our group little gifts throughout the week, and a generous welcome basket with drinks and snacks. He was also very understanding when car troubles required an late departure and even went through the trouble to drop us off in a nearby village so we could catch a taxi to our replacement car. In all my years renting accommodations in France and abroad I’ve never had such a hospitable and accommodating host. Although the house and property are wonderful on their own, Thomas really went above and beyond to ensure we had an excellent holiday. He lives next door in case you need anything, but is also discreet and of course respected our privacy. The location is rural and quiet, with some forest paths nearby for easy peaceful walks. The area is not overly popular with tourists, which is lovely because nothing feels over crowded. Nevertheless, there are several charming villages nearby with restaurants and bakeries, as well as a few castles and other historical landmarks to visit. Thank you so much Mossy for a wonderful stay, we can’t wait to come back.

Excellent séjour en famille

Nous avons passé une semaine dans une très jolie ferme qui est idéal pour se retrouver en famille. Les enfants étaient ravis car il y avait un très grand jardin et une piscine ;-). Nous avons pu profiter de Nanteuil-en-Vallée et ses alentours que ce soit à vélo ou à pied. Merci encore à Thomas pour sa gentillesse, ses petites attentions et son hospitalité.

Parfaite semaine de détente pour les grands et les petits

Un accueil très sympa par Thomas, le propriétaire, qui est aux petits soins. Une maison spacieuse très bien équipée et avec tout ce qu’il faut pour occuper les plus petits et les plus grands, une personnalisation des chambres pour coller au mieux à notre structure familiale! Un énorme jardin. Nous avons passé une très belle semaine. Je dirais que le seul bémol est la piscine qui n’est pas chauffée. Les nuits ayant été fort fraîches, impossible pour l’eau de se réchauffer même si les températures de jour étaient très bonnes. Mais ça c’est une question de goûts 😁 Encore un grand merci de nous avoir si bien accueillis

De beaux souvenirs de vacances

Nous avons passé une très bonne semaine en famille et avons beaucoup apprécié la discrétion et la grande gentillesse du propriétaire qui nous a comblés de délicates attentions tout au long de notre séjour. Les enfants ont largement profité de la piscine, du grand terrain et des tipis avec une expérience de nuit à la belle étoile qu'ils ne sont pas prêts d'oublier ! Après le confinement cette bouffée d'air était tout simplement parfaite. Le propriétaire Thomas est très attentionné et réactif en cas de question ou petit soucis toute la famille à adoré ce séjour parents grands parents enfant et bébé se sont éclatés nous reviendrons !!!

Séjour très agréable dans la campagne charentaise

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans la maison de Thomas. La location est très spacieuse, très fonctionnelle et parfaitement équipée. Le jardin est très grand et la piscine très agréable... Idéal pour les enfants. Le propriétaire nous avait laissé quelques pâtisseries et boissons à notre arrivée (ce qui fut très appréciable) et a été disponible tout au long du séjour si nous avions la moindre question. Idéal pour un séjour au calme en famille ou entre amis.

The week was wonderful. The location is wonderfully scenic and quiet and Thomas as host was brilliant - helpful and on hand to help manage the pool and share info about local activities and possible trips/places to visit. Very welcoming and friendly. The house was lovely - with plenty of space and everything you need to just unwind and relax. Evenings spent sitting outside under the stars were lovely.

A perfect holiday experience

Our stay at Mossy's beautiful house in the French countryside was perfect. After a long drive, we were warmly welcomed by Mossy who had thoughtfully prepared a welcome basket which was exactly what we needed. He was kind and attentive, yet respected our privacy, allowing us to fully enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings. We were two families with 4 children between the age of 7 and 15. We all enjoyed the house that had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We spent our days enjoying the swimming pool, playing football, table tennis, having BBQ's in the spacious garden. The game room was a highlight, where we held fun family tournaments in darts, pool and baby football, creating memories we will cherish. The nearby village of Nanteuil was a short walk away, we loved exploring its charming streets and picking up fresh bread in the morning. Mossy and his team were available if we needed anything. Their hospitality made our stay enjoyable. We couldn't have asked for a better holiday and would highly recommend this wonderful property.

More than what you see

The listing for this property does not in anyway show off how excellent this place really is. The grounds are much bigger than the photos illustrate, with sports items for every sport we could imagine. The entertainment functionality, pool, football, books, movies, games, it was like having a youth club in your accommodation. It kept four teenagers out of our hair for the whole holiday, not once did we hear a single "I am bored, or are we doing anything today", you just cant buy that kind of peace and quiet on a holiday with teenagers. One of the best bits though was the owner, his thoughtful additions, little tips on the area and places we might visit, and the little add ons, just transformed the holiday from great to outstanding. Five stars is not enough.

Relaxing, peaceful break

Lovely, spacious property in a very peaceful location. We stayed 19 nights to use as a base for house hunting and although the weather prevented us from spending more time relaxing on the lovely terrace it didn't spoil our enjoyment of this holiday. Comfy beds and plenty of space to relax in, we throughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful location. About 15 mins from Ruffec it strikes the perfect balance between isolation(peace & quiet) and being close enough to your shopping needs. If we ever plan to spend more time in this area I would definitely stay here again. Mossy, the owner, was in regular communication both prior to and during our stay so we had no worries about anything.

Een charmante gerenoveerd huis

Een huis met een prachtige tuin voorzien van heel wat mogelijkheden om je vakantie buiten door te brengen. Er was ook heel wat voor de kinderen. Een hele joviale gastheer. Ten Weeks in the French Countryside

We were looking for somewhere to stay for a long period while we were house hunting. We wanted space, peace and quiet but not too far from amenities. This lovely farmhouse fitted the bill perfectly and Thomas was a most welcoming and generous host. 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms meant space for our many guests and with Nanteuil only a 30 minute walk away through the woods and Ruffec 10 minutes in the car, we wanted for nothing. When we had an offer accepted on our new house, Thomas brought a bottle of champagne round to celebrate - most kind. The little hamlet of La Courriere felt like home and we were sad to leave.

Fantastic family house

As an adult group of family and friends, plus two dogs, we had a fantastic time at Thomas's lovely house. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and plenty of parking for several cars. The outside space was beautiful - private and perfect for enjoying the evening sun, swimming pool, BBQ, plenty of sunbeds for lazy reading. We also enjoyed cycle rides and great walks with the dogs. Brilliant too was the enormous games room where several evenings of table football, table tennis, darts and pool challenges were enjoyed - not to mention dancing til 2 am in the large lounge. Helpful to have 2x large fridges (one for the wine/beer!). The whole experience from start to finish was fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed the 2 weeks and Thomas phoned before and during to ensure we had all we needed with the support of his local team - who were also brilliant. Thanks Thomas for a fantastic stay.

What a house!

Rented this house for myself and four children while we were visiting the area. Thomas's house could not have been more perfect. Well equipped, spacious, comfortable and with all amenities that we could ever dreamt of. The weather was terrible while we were staying which meant a lot of time in the house buy there was never a dull moment given the extensive games room. We were very well looked after and would definitely recommend. Thank you for creating this wonderful home.

Vakantie 20-7-2019 tot 3-8-2019 in Nanteuil-en-Vallée

Al bijna 20 jaar huur ik samen met vrienden en kinderen huizen in Frankrijk. Dit jaar hebben wij onze vakantiewoning in Nanteuil-en-Vallée via HomeAway geboekt. We waren we met 7 personen en 1 hond. Al vanaf de eerste mailcontact met eigenaar Thomas Farrell had ik een goed gevoel. Thomas beantwoorde al onze vragen, op een vriendelijke manier zoals ik die bij voorgaande boekingen nog niet had meegemaakt, en kwam ons tegemoet waar mogelijk. Op de dag van aankomst waren wij ruim 1,5 uur vroeger dan de overeengekomen aankomsttijd. Ondanks dat werden wij toch hartelijk ontvangen door Gary (huismeester), en even later ook door Thomas die ons vriendelijk verwelkomde. Hij overhandigde ons een grote mand met prachtige streekproducten en wijn. Ook had hij een vaatje bier voor in de, in het huis aanwezige, biertap voor ons geregeld. Hij gaf ons de ruimte om het huis te verkennen en zou 's-avonds terugkomen om eventuele vragen te beantwoorden. 's-avond kwam hij terug met een champagnekoeler vol met ijs met daarin een heerlijke fles champagne. Onder het genot van een glas champagne heeft hij onze vragen beantwoordt en nog wat omgeving tips en folders gegeven. Het verblijf was super! Het huis is erg koel., op de 1e etage (in de game room) hangt een airco, en daarnaast zijn voldoende ventilatoren om het nog aangenamer te maken. De slaapkamers (2 op de b.g. en 2 op de 1e verdieping) zijn ruim, schoon en zien er prachtig uit. Bedden zijn goed. Ook de badkamers (1 op de b.g., en 2 op de 1e verdieping ) zijn groot, netjes en schoon. Handdoeken en beddengoed zijn voldoende aanwezig. Na week werden de bedden verschoond. Ook om het huis was het netjes en de tuin was zeer aangenaam en ruim. De omgeving is niet erg toeristisch, maar er is genoeg te zien en te bezoeken (leuke stadjes en dorpjes, mooie restaurants, gezellige (brocante) marktjes, kanovaren enz., Bovendien is het een prachtig landschap om door heen te rijden met de auto of de fiets. Op de avond voor ons vertrek kwam Thomas nog met een drankje langs om afscheid te nemen (we zouden nl. de volgende morgen vroeg vertrekken). Wij hebben een super vakantie gehad in jouw huis, ik zou het een ieder aanbevelen. Namens ons allen heel erg bedankt Thomas. PS. Ik heb bij de vraag "nauwkeurigheid van de online advertentie" 3 sterren gegeven in plaats van 5, omdat ik van mening ben dat de omschrijving tekort doet aan de werkelijkheid. Die is namelijk beter. Eigenaar heel lieve en attente man, niets was teveel, vooral de kinderen werden bijna dagelijks verwent met kadootjes , bij aankomst stond een mand vol lekkers met streekproducten klaar ! Wij hebben zeker genoten vooral van de rust .

Not disappointed at all....

Having read lots of reviews in the past I am well versed with the Gucci words and phrases that people use. However I am lost for words to describe our holiday. We went here as a family of 8 adults and 4 children including a baby. Our total experience was overwhelming. Fantastic and brilliant in all aspects. Just what we were looking for. A holiday in France where the grandchildren could run about enjoying themselves without any fear or worries. The older ones of the party could then spend their time relaxing and taking in the beautiful countryside. Not to mention the great food. Not a moment went by when we were not enjoying ourselves. Mossy our host - a top Man. Just great. Made sure we arrived safely at the ferry port. Met us on arrival with a cool beer and was always available for a chat or advice on where to visit. The place was great and served us well. Well maintained and tidy. We had no issues at all while we were there. The area was so peaceful at night. It was great. If you are looking to stay in a proper rural location in a proper French house then you will not be disappointed. Fantastic villages to visit and don't forget the local markets. Supermarkets and fuel stations close to hand. Watch out for the Sunday opening hours though. Definately going back again. Thanks Mossy from us all.
