Step into your own unique retreat at Bathurst Lodge, where heritage elegance meets modern luxury in the heart of Mudgee. Designed for larger groups, this spacious brick home features multiple living areas, a pool table, cosy lounges and a stunning alfresco with firepit and BBQ—perfect for slowing down and gathering in peace. Just a ten-minute drive to wineries and local dining, you'll find endless ways to relax and enjoy time together as a group.
This remarkable red-brick residence, once a historic hospital dating back to the 1800s, welcomes you through its charming wraparound verandah—beautifully restored to preserve its original character while introducing contemporary comforts throughout. The main living area features a relaxed lounge with TV, pool table and dedicated workspace, while a connecting formal lounge creates a second, more intimate space to unwind. All fireplaces are only decorative, but the home is fitted with ducted heating and cooling for year-round comfort.

The country-style kitchen is fully-equipped with modern appliances, a Nespresso machine and generous bench space, flowing seamlessly into a spacious dining area with a large table ideal for shared meals. Outdoors, a generous undercover patio extends the living space, complete with alfresco dining, BBQ, heaters, fans and a TV—setting the scene for long, memorable dinners that stretch well into the evening. Share some local wine and easy conversation before gathering around the firepit, where the night continues under the stars.

Upstairs, a private retreat features a king bedroom with a TV, split-system air-conditioning, and an ensuite complete with a deep bath and walk-in robe. Downstairs near the dining area, a queen bedroom opens onto the verandah and also offers its own TV. In the rear wing, you'll find another king bedroom, a queen bedroom, and a flexible fifth bedroom with a king and two singles, along with a personal TV for the family to enjoy their favourite shows before drifting off to sleep. This wing also includes the main bathroom that features a lavish bath and dual vanities, plus a third bathroom with a shower, offering both comfort and privacy for larger groups. Flexible bedding options enable us to split the king beds into single beds upon request for an additional fee of $30 per bed. This allows for configurations of up to eight single beds and two queen beds.

Additional conveniences include a full laundry with washer and dryer, along with on-site parking via carport and driveway.

Firewood packs can be pre-ordered at an additional cost; the fire pit is available only from April to September. Please inform us at the time of booking if you would like to have firewood provided.

Intimate gatherings among guests are allowed, but no extra guests are to be brought onto the property without prior approval.
During your stay, you and your group will have the entire house to yourselves. Please make yourselves at home!

Due to local regulations, we can happily host you for up to 90 nights. Any bookings that exceed this duration will be cancelled by Vrbo.
