Very clean

Took my father for a trout fishing trip to mountain rest sc for a late father's day present, Kay's place was extremely clean and well appointed. Privacy was limited, main house is only a few feet away. It was ok for us, as we were fishing most of the time but i can see this being a concern for others that might stay. But again, the guest house was extremely clean, had everything we needed. Very comfortable, for sure.

Great get away

Anniversary Get-away

My husband and I usually take mini vacations at the beach, but decided to head west to the foothills of South Carolina. So happy that we did. The Guest House was in the perfect location. Spent every morning relaxing by the river. Secluded but still within 20 -25 minutes of shopping and restaurants. The house was very tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. You only need to bring your clothes and food -- anything else you may need is already there - even a fishing pole!

Great time at the “Guest House”

Very clean, comfortable house on the river. Excellent opportunity to throw some lures in hopes of catching a trout. Great place to enjoy the property while relaxing with the sounds of the rapids. I will be back!

Quiet Respite in Nature

We arrived after midnight and Kay had kindly turned some lights on in the guest house for us. The motion-sensor lights attached to the buildings outside also lit our path to the house which was especially helpful after a long day of traveling and car troubles. Our stay was very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped with cooking utensils, pots and pans that we were able to enjoy preparing breakfast and dinner during our stay. We especially loved waking up, exploring the property, and being surrounded by nature in general. Before we went on a hike for the afternoon, Kay kindly prepared a complimentary charcuterie backpack and included a birthday card for my husband which was a very thoughtful touch. We hiked to Yellow Branch Falls, but there are so many waterfall trails nearby for all ages and levels of hikers that you really can't go wrong whichever you choose. The pillows provided with the bed were great as well - one firm and flat & one plush and soft for each person, plus extra blankets for those who sleep colder meant that we both slept wonderfully. Kay & Keevin truly ensure that their guests needn't worry about a single aspect for their stay so that they can simply enjoy their few days in the upcountry paradise. We appreciated this so much and look forward to our next stay!

Relaxation Getaway

The property looked just like the pictures. It was a great place to get away for the weekend. My husband fished and we sat in the river and relaxed. The location is a little remote but only a short drive if you want to go eat at a restaurant. Kay was so easy to work with and answered any questions that we had.

Great stay for a fishing trip!

Had an overwhelmingly pleasant stay here. Kay and Keevin’s hospitality goes above and beyond. The guest house is very private and extremely clean and well furnished, felt like I was at home! The house is a great location for fishing right on the Chauga river and within 15 minutes of the Chattooga River. Will definitely be coming back for another visit!

Great place

We've stayed with Kay and Keevin at the Boar Hog just up the road. Didn't need two bedrooms so thought we'd try this one. It was great the location is perfect just feet from the river. Several good fishing spots on the property and close by (Chattooga Fly just up the road on 28 and Joccassee Outfitters in Salem). The cabin itself was excellent everything you need and well-appointed as well. Enjoyed sitting out and listening to the river in the evening. Several spots to sit and several firepits are available. Hosts are friendly and available if you need help with anything. We will definitely be going back. Thanks for a great stay.

Gem of the Mountains

I enjoyed everything about this trip and Kay the host is a national treasure, not only is she friendly, responsive and considerate, but a wealth of knowledge on the area and it’s history. The home is absolutely immaculate with everything you need to feel at home. We will definitely be back!

Peaceful Get Away

We thoroughly enjoyed our mini vacation at this beautiful, secluded, private cozy guest home. It was tastefully decorated and perfectly clean. Absolutely Beautiful

My husband and I enjoyed ringing in the New Year at this amazing property. Very nice and quiet. The hosts are amazing. They respond very quickly and are very welcoming. We can't wait to return.

Great honeymoon experience

We had an impromptu honeymoon here after deciding to elope. We couldn't have picked a better spot, or a more gracious host! The property was beautiful with the Chauga river at our back door. We even managed to catch a couple of tasty trout. The weather didn't want to cooperate, but we still had fun hiking and exploring the area. Would recommend to anyone who loves the mountains!

Great Host experience

This was one of the best experiences my wife and I have had on a VRBO. Kay, the host, was very accommodating and easy to get in touch with if/when we needed anything. She also gave great recommendations on where to visit from small towns to waterfall!!! We plan on making this place a yearly tradition for us!

Relaxing Stay

This property was very well what we needed. The check-in was very easy. The house was extremely clean and comfortable. The river, just a few steps from the guest house, had the most relaxing sound ever . The owner thought of many small details to add to the experience of people staying there. If you need peace and quiet away from a busy life, this is definitely the place to go.
