Beautiful rural Cottage on the outskirts of Rothbury, Sleeps 4 in comfort

Bluebell Cottage at Westcliffe House is a luxury ground floor holiday Cottage sleeping up to four people in two stylish and comfortable bedrooms on the outskirts of Rothbury. The Cottage is located at the rear of the Westcliffe House estate adjacent to peaceful woodland (carpetted with bluebells each Spring) and overlooking beautiful countryside fields. Bluebell Cottage has plenty of allocated parking and a private seating area with table and chairs. Through the tiled entrance porch (perfect for those muddy walking boots or towelling off the dog!) there is a large central hallway with access to all the other rooms. All the accommodation in Bluebell Cottage is on one level, with only a small step to enter the property.

Straight ahead of you is the comfortable Living Room, with French doors leading out onto a small patio. You have everything you need entertainment wise with a 32" LCD TV with Sky Freeview, a DVD player and a games console should you wish to use them. Comfortable brown leather sofas, bookshelves, standard lamps and ornaments finish off this stylish living room perfectly. The large, modern Kitchen offers granite worktops, oven/hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge and seperate freezer, a family sized dishwasher, a washer/dryer and all the pots, pans and utensils you could possibly need in a self catering holiday home. It also has a beautiful glass dining table that comfortably seats four people.

The Master Bedroom has a double bed, large wardrobe and chest of drawers for storage and views over the countryside fields! The Master also has a full En Suite with Villeroy and Boch fixtures and fittings and shower over bath. The second bedroom is a large twin room with pleasant views, bedside table, wardrobe and chest of drawers. The Family Bathroom leads from the main hallway and has the same quality fixtures and fittings, bath with shower over, hand basin and toilet.

All our guests are welcome to enjoy the beautiful Grounds at Westcliffe House during their stay.

Short house

The cottage was lovely, not 'luxury' though, paint pealing in the bathrooms. The bed was so low to the ground that I had to sleep on the sofa as I couldn't get up off it with my arthritic knees. My partner who is 6'7" also really struggled with the low furniture. we would love to come back to the area but definitely not to this property.

Birdsong at Bluebell cottage

The ‘cottage’ is comfortable, warm and spacious. The kitchen was mostly well equipped but missing basics like a coffee pot…maybe not a problem for other guests but a basic need for us! The birdsong in the large shared garden was wonderful. Our only real complaint was a very misguiding picture of the property’s situation in the original advert. The photograph intimates the ‘cottage’ is isolated in the countryside…in fact it is part of a large complex of holiday lets. Bluebell Cottage is attached to the back of the complex so probably the most private…but it might be very different at high season when all the apartments are full (not the case when we stayed) as all the outside garden space is shared by all guests.

Beautiful and peaceful place loved it!

This place is totally amazing! It was so peaceful with amazing views. It was nice seeing the horses and the cat daily. It was clean and the layout of the place was superb. Everything we needed was there. I would highly recommend and would love to come back again!

Lovely stay in Rothbury

Spacious comfortable and very clean. Lovely location on the outskirts of the village . Some facilities absent eg only 4 drinking glasses and notably oven wasn't working which was inconvenient .Very cheap and limited toaster . Shower heads in both ensuite and bathroom need replacing . Driveway to park at the back of the cottage not in good shape.

Enjoyable

Inside the property was excellent. However, there was little usable outside space. We are used to a few welcoming features such as a small jug of milk and maybe a plate of cookies. There was none of these. We turned up, retrieved the key from a keysafe and let ourselves in. When we left we returned the key to the safe and departed. All extremely impersonal. None of this was a problem and we would visit again but a minute additional effort would have been nice. Rothbury is a lovely town. Well worth the visit.

have not been to Northumberland before and we weren't disappointed. The scenery and beaches are stunning and the cottage is very warm and cosy with everything you could need. Kitchen and bathrooms were all excellent, very well equipped. Beds were comfortable too.
