The meal was very nice - but not cheap. The twin room was very basic, but was clean and adequate for a one night stay. The beds were very comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. 'Our second stay at this lovely hotel. It’s elegant without being stuck up. All the staff were lovely. I had the most fantastic green curry in Drakes restaurant; a good nights sleep in very comfortable bed; a great breakfast (yogurt, fresh pineapple and fruit coulis especially appreciated!); and a nice dip in the pool before leaving. 'Location is great. Hote Is basic as reflected in price as well as reviews. Restaurant at hotel was terribly understaffed - only one chef. Took an hour and 20 mins for food to arrive. Secondly, there was no daily cleaning or towel change and was not mentioned clearly.'

'Liked the garden, but it needs a little C&A... Disabled car parking near to our room (No.5) was an excellent bonus. Breakfast was excellent but a bit expensive. Staff were all very courtious and helpful. Direct booking rather than via an agency is preferred. We will certainly be recomending the Lion to our friends and relations and using you again next time we are in the area.
