  • De Locanda del Podestà is een oud huis gebouwd rond de zeventiende eeuw. In het verleden is de residentie van de podestà volledig gerestaureerd met behoud van de originele karakters, maar voorzien van alle gemakken van vandaag. Het ligt in het historische centrum van het dorp Montespertoli, op slechts 5 minuten lopen van de dichtstbijzijnde supermarkt. Het dorp ligt op een half uur van Florence aan de Via Volterrana, een van de oudste wegen in Toscane, die vanaf Florence en de heuvels van de Val di Pesa en Valdelsa oversteken Volterra raakt en doorloopt naar de kust bij Cecina. Het land ligt op een centrale locatie ten opzichte van de grote kunststeden van Toscane, het is in feite 40 minuten van San Gimignano, Monteriggioni en Pistoia, 1 uur van Siena, Volterra, Livorno, Pisa en Lucca.

Bruno is wonderful and great at communicating. His home is architecturally amazing and the views are stunning. The spot in town is very convenient. The location in Tuscany is perfect for day trips to Siena, Florence, Lucca, etc. Bruno provides exceptional attention to detail. Montespertoli is a beautiful, authentic, and welcoming town with lovely people and great food!

Wunderbare Aussicht von der Dachterrasse, unkomplizierte und schnelle Kommunikation mit Bruno, sehr sauber, Parkplatz vorhanden, sehr zentral gelegen in schönem Ort. Wir empfehlen das Haus weiter!

Such an amazing property! It was surreal to be in such an old structure with every modern amenity and the view from the top-story terrace is breathtaking and makes for magical cocktail hours. Montespertoli is a wonderful small town and the home is just steps from the town center with its bakery, produce store, butcher and a full-on grocery store with everything else you might need. There's a weekly town market on Tuesdays with the most amazing vendors...especially the fish monger. Everything is amazingly fresh. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this as a wonderful place to chill and use as a home base for exploring Tuscany. (For those with mobility limitations, be aware there are three flights of stairs from the parking area to the home and small level changes throughout.)

Two weeks in paradise

It was in a great location. It had a magnificent view of the countryside from the upper deck. Walkable to several restaurants. It was a great place to congregate and to relax.

Gorgeous property in a Tuscan hill-top village. The house is just incredible. Lovely and cool, due to all the ancient stone, but with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Fantastic showers - really powerful - and a much-needed plunge pool for when we needed relief from the heat. The location of the house is perfect. Supermarket and bars/restaurants/wine-tasting all within walking distance.

Epic Tuscan Palace

Beautiful old world feel with all of the latest amenities. This house is amazing and made our trip to Tuscany an unforgettable experience. We enjoyed the local wineries and restaurants. Bruno had great recommendations & was very helpful with guidance for our time at in Montespertoli.

Perfect small town stay near Florence

This house was perfect for our group of 9 girlfriends. Every room had a bathroom to share which was so convenient. It’s location was also perfect to explore Tuscany and all the hysterical gems. Montespertoli is a beautiful town to visit and Bruno was an excellent host!

This was the perfect place for our family of eight to stay for ten days. The kids wanted to meet people and not just hop from museum to museum in an American bubble. They kicked around a soccer ball in the piazza almost every night with local boys. There was live music. The ladies who own the gelato shop next door held a dance party in the piazza featuring a DJ playing old vinyl. When you go there mention that Jim sent you — the dancing old man. Gabriella will smile.It’s a short walk to a large grocery store and the restaurants are all recommended. We ate at L’Artevino twice. The bus stop is near the grocery store and the bus will take you to Empoli where you have easy access to trains to Florence, Pisa, Rome and beyond. Buying tickets online was fast and effortless.We used NCC for some transfers to more out-of-the-way places like a Cashmere Goat Farm in the hills of Chianti. The vans they use easily fit out family of eight including a car seat for the two-year-old.And Bruno, our host, was friendly, very responsible and accommodating. Of all the VRBO hosts we have had, he has been the best.There is something very comforting to stay in a quiet, small, very old village with friendly people greeting you on the street. And the accommodation did not disappoint.

Amazing views of Tuscany countryside

This house is incredible, leaving no stone ( literally) unturned to find a balance between preserving the medieval charm of the house but providing modern comforts. Even the water pressure is great! Beds are all comfortable. The views from the decks are breathtaking ! We loved exploring Tuscany with this amazing house as our base .

A Charming Apartment

Our family of nine was entranced by the old-world authenticity of this apartment, yet with the modern amenities we all want. The town was small and easily walkable to good restaurants, with a good coffee shop practically next door. Bruno was an attentive host, and his communication with you prior to checking in was thorough. Would stay here again.

Excellent stay in a local village

Our stay was exactly what we needed and exceeded our expectations. A beautifully renovated/restored villa with all the facilities you could need and it was terrific to have space after a spate of living out of hotel rooms. Walking distance to everything that is needed and a great opportunity to practice speaking Italian. Highly recommend this accommodation. Bruno is fabulous and incredibly helpful and responsive.

A lovely stay in a great villa

A really nice property in a great location close to some super little restaurants. Very helpful having a garage and the plunge pool came in handy in the July heat!! Worked well having two living areas given we had my parents with us. Bruno very helpful and quick to respond to any queries; a charming host! Lovely views over the valley.

Gorgeous apartment in a beautiful town

Apartment was exactly as it was in listing. Spacious rooms, beautiful kitchen. walking distance to town with cafes, pizzerias, and restaurants. Great central location to get to Florence, Lucca, and Siena. Communication with Bruno and Patrizia were great, always available to talk. Highly recommend this property. I would definitely comeback and stay here again

Great place if looking for a stay away from tourist area

The house was nice. The town itself has a couple small bars and restaurants that we checked out. It was easily walkable to the town and close enough to get into the Florence area. We did wish there was more soap and shampoo on the bathrooms and if the beds could have been made. Otherwise beautifysetting and a gracious owner who always responded quickly to any question we had.

Great location and space

Montespertoli did not disappoint. This home is very well located to enjoy a small town and have easy access to other small towns, as well as Florence and Lucca-two of our favorites. Wine tasting, gelato, bakery, groceries, post office all within a short walk. The listing was accurate and our family of six had plenty of room to be together or find a quiet space. We especially enjoyed the rooftop patio. Bruno was responsive to questions and recommendations and the check in/check out process was smooth. Thank you for a lovely visit.
