First impression was the hotel is very beautiful and well kept and most of the staff were friendly. Javarie, the receptionist had no personality or warmth for that role. He should not be greeting or checking out anyone. The first two days, we had no WiFi in room 8, and it took many back and forth to the reception desk. That was when we met Bronswell, the receptionist. He is very friendly, personable and went out of his way to assist us. We then got a room change to 18 and was pleasantly surprised and not in a good way. The room has roaches! My husband and I killed so many of them and eventually we reported it to the front desk. They said they had it sprayed but it didn’t make a difference. We were ready to leave by that point. We paid for 10 days in an ocean view room that had roaches and the shower and bathroom smelled like sewage. We only stayed 9 days because the airline canceled our flight on the day we were supposed to travel and we had to get another flight the following day. RIU Montego Bay didn’t reimburse us for that day we lost, so needless to say, we would never go back to that hotel.
