« The Marlborough is a pub with tasty food and about five rooms for overnight stays. The staff is outstanding and does everything possible to be helpful. It is on a central street of a very small town, so it can be a bit noisy during the day and early evening, but is quiet at night. The rooms have nice versions of all the basics, including a good bed and excellent shower. There are few extra amenities beyond the room and pub, although the breakfast was very good. « Convenient location for Colchester, Ipswich and the surrounding region, and a warm welcome from the team on reception. Copious, self service breakfast with a wide choice, and the ability to borrow a 2-3 pin adaptor from reception. Car parking available and the possibility of obtaining a continental breakfast to take with you if you leave before the 'official' opening time - ask reception the night before !! »

« We loved it here, had a a good couple of nights with friends. Beautiful apartment, amazing mattresses and pillows, very quiet environment. The pool wasn’t open and some work was happening but you can tell it’s going to look amazing once they put it all together and summer prep work is expected at this time of year. Kara was fab and we met a super helpful housekeeper who is doing a degree who was a literal walking tourist information centre. Great atmosphere all round . »
