Scandalous treatment
I have been booking hotels in the US for 30 years already; and I have always been doing that through Expedia for the past 10 years. I have never had a problem upon check-in; everything always seems to be allright. Now the duty manager in this hotel tells me upon arrival - after traveling for 15 hours with a family of four - that my reservation got canceled..... because "the credit card they tried to charge a few days earlier got refused". What a bunch of baloney!! This is had never occurred before! Also, when finally we got booked into a different type of room (without the promised patio) than we had reserved (for the same price!!), I paid with the same credit card that supposedly got refused a few days earlier. And when they "canceled our reservation", they didn't let us know, but decided to tell us upon arrival, standing there jet lagged with 8 pieces of luggage.... no consideration, no sympathy, it was clearly made our own fault, because it was our credit card that didn't work.... Whatever!! No, you just cancel the reservation and confront a traveling family with it when they stand at your reception desk. Great way of dealing with customers... NOT! There had been no way they they could have warned us - according to the manager!!! - because they didn't have our details. The crap simply continues.... No of course they couldn't have contacted Expedia, and of course they couldn't have looked up our details in their own Marriott loyalty program database and of course...

Modern, nieuw hotel vlakbij winkel/wandelgebied.
Met de parkeerkosten van $35 pd is dit hotel prijzig. Kamers zijn luxe, maar kleiner dan gemiddeld en verwacht geen uitgeruste keuken of tafel met vier stoelen. Zwembad op het dak is schitterend, maar er dreven algen in. Het ontbijt vonden we gemiddeld en sluit om 09:00 (weekend 09:30). Afknapper is de creditcard reservering van $180 ipv de aangezegde $50. Baliemedewerker kon er niets over zeggen.

The property was across from Trader Joe’s which made it easy for us to get low cost meals while there. There’s also lots of shopping within walking distance. There’s free breakfast every morning and the shuttle from the hotel to the beach was free. Great value.

Staff was great, parking attendants were awesome. Breakfast was ok, the rooms were not as I expected. Bed springs were worn down and floor was dirty and floor boards were loose and the Pool closed at 9pm. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

For the price, $4000 for seven nights, the hotel was terrible. The floors were disgustingly dirty. The pictures shown at booking were different than what we received. The AC wouldn't shut off and it would force us to get up and turn the heat on because it would cool to 62° at night. We called for service a couple times but the lady who came up to service the unit didn't speak English so we couldn't describe the issue to her. The trash pickup next door was every day between 5-7am. Sometimes it was twice during that time. Very loud. Overall we'd never book there again. The best part was the location.

Perfect location and a convenient stay
Overall a great stay in a roomy suite with a loaded kitchenette! The location of the hotel is perfect - everything and everywhere you need is within walking distance. My only 2 concerns were as follows (1) The breakfast area gets chaotic and overcrowded during the busy hours. The breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful though. (2) The pool was useless in late December since it was not heated even though the entire rooftop was very cool and relaxing.

Service was good, and it is a great location in South Beach. Valet parking is $50 per day which is expensive, not many options around for parking. Hot water at shower was an issue but solved. Not a good smell where kitchen is.
