Location is good at 2 blocks away from the beach. With that being said, claiming to be a 4 star hotel and charging a resort fee when there is not even parking available at the hotel and no breakfast at the hotel is unreasonable. Parking nearby is at $60 per night which is not cheap! My other feedback is that the refrigerator at our room was tied to the light switches, so when the lights are off the fridge is off, and one of the lights did not have a switch to turn it off. Unfortunately we discovered this too late so all our food was spoiled (I know, food may not be as important but it can be worse for people that need the refrigerator to conserve medicine).

The good part is that Pestana South Beach is in a good location on a quiet street but near the ocean and main streets of South Beach. I also liked the staff personally and found them to be helpful. When I was there they would get a bit busy with larger groups of airline employees checking in, so that you needed to plan your questions around that. As for the property itself it was just OK - it looks good from the outside and inside it is fairly average, with some of the cabinetry and things like that made out of cheaper materials. The bed was not super comfortable, and they use an unusual style of bedding and sheets. Overall, the place has a bit of a European vibe, which can be good and bad for a hotel. It is nice that the beach chairs/umbrellas are included with the room, though you have to remember to ask for the card and the towel before leaving. It is perhaps a hotel for couples and families, rather than for single people. As I said I liked the staff even if sometimes (maybe my imagination) they seemed a bit "watchful," good for security but perhaps more scrutiny coming and going than your average U.S. hotel. They do have a pool in the inner courtyard which is not bad - though I did not spend a lot of time there.

Great stay at this property! Lovely art deco property, not your usual hotel, we loved the stay but also appreciate the staff! Decent value for the area
It’s a nice hotel,albeit getting a bit run down. If you arrive prior to 4p they will be good enough to hold your bags for you but will not allow you into your room even though it’s ready unless you pay $100 extra. That is very odd to me and poor business as there is then a long line at 4p when everyone that didn’t want pony up an extra $100 tries to check in.

Hello, Shari, Thank you so much for your feedback. Please note that our check in starts at 4 PM . There is an early check in fee that is 50 + tax for any arrival around 10 AM. Before 10 AM we charge 60 % of the daily rate or we do make a special price. As all our guests know the check in time, they usually come around this hour if they do not want to pay an early check in fee, if there are rooms available. It is not about poor business, actually is about settling business procedures. Also, if a guest arrives at 3PM and the room is ready, we do not charge early check in fee, as it happens in a lot of hotels. We appreciate your comment, and we hope to see you soon at the hotel.

Overall nice hotel, good location and very friendly and helpful staff. Marked it down as our room was very noisy - there doesn’t seem to be any insulation between rooms. We could hear EVERYTHING in the room above us And got woken up a few times by suitcases wheels moving around early in the morning. Secondly, they play music around the pool every day, which states at about 8am. Not great if, like us, your windows face on to it. We slept with the window on and regretted it as soon as we got woken up by the music. A very good 3.5 star, but couldn’t say it was a good 4*, even though the staff service was definitely off that standard.

Excellent accueil, le personnel est top, gentil, souriant bienveillant, arrangeant… l’hôtel est très bien situé, à quelques minutes à pied des centres d’intérêt mais un peu à l’écart du brouhaha. Seul bémol, très mauvaise isolation phonique dans les chambres, on entend les pas des voisins, les portes qui claquent et le personnel de chambre le matin.

Have always wanted to stay at a Pestana, and overall it was just alright. I will say the staff was amazing and friendly. That really made the stay. As a VIP expedia room, I receive a bottle of wine which was great. Thank you! Downside, there was a mixup with my room and it felt like I got bumped to a not so great room but they wouldn't explain what happened when I asked. I saw on the paperwork that originally I would have been on the 3rd floor, but received the 2nd floor at check in. I definitely can confirm this as they initially setup my wine in the other room and so had to move everything. It was a 3 floor property so I wouldn't have had to deal with the noise I did if I wasn't bumped to the 2nd floor. The curtains were outdated and dirty, and the fridge broke. Maintenance came in as soon as possible to fix and got a new one for the room. The area was close to most things you would need. Close enough walking to the hustle and bustle of Miami without being directly in it which was exactly what I wanted. Don't think I will stay again unless they upgrade the property. Put me off staying at any other Pestana location for right now.

Really great stay. The staff were really lovely and helpful. Beach umbrellas and sunbeds are included in the stay which was even better. Great spot!

El hotel esta muy bien ubicado y el personal es super amable, sin embargo los edificios no tienen elevador y esto no aparece en ningún lado! Nos toco subir y bajar nuestro equipaje (3 maletas grandes y 2 carry-on) por las escaleras a un tercer piso!

L’hôtel est super bien situé pas loin des grands axes restaurant et boutiques . Lincoln street mall à 10 mns à pied et la plage magnifique 5 mns à pied . Le personnel super gentil et disponible . Un grand merci à tout le staff de l’hôtel . Passé 10 jours j’avais l’impression d’être chez moi . Propreté 10/10. C’est grâce aux commentaires des internautes que j’ai pu choisir cet hôtel et je ne me suis pas trompée . Allez y les yeux fermés

I cannot say enough good things about this property and especially the staff. The staff was phenomenal the entire time. We had plenty of questions about the area and services at the hotel (lounge chairs at beach, pool, bikes, etc) and they answered everything so kindly and were very helpful the entire stay. The room was nice. The pool was really nice. I loved the lobby and its decor. I loved the fact that we got beach loungers and an umbrella as well as an hour of free bike rental. And we had some fantastic restaurants right nearby with awesome atmospheres/ambiance and delicious food.

The pictures of the hotel made it seem like the hotel was connected to the beach; it’s not. No microwave in the room or in the hotel. I called prior to us arriving to the hotel to ask if we could do early check in and to verify they had a room available. The receptionist told me yes. When I arrived they didn’t have a room and I had to wait an hour and 45 minutes for one to become available. The staff was friendly but majority of them spoke Spanish.

Your opinion is crucial for us to improve how we work.We would like to sincerely apologize for not fully meeting your expectations and for any inconvenience this may have caused.However allow me to inform and so other Guests know, that there are no pictures that relate the hotel connection with the beach. We indeed just a walk around and crossing Collins Avenue, hence i dont think this is a surprise.Microwave is available in the property. Please bear in mind this is Hotel and Hotel rooms, not an apartment with a kitchenette. Its a different product.I dont know exactly what time you arrived at the hotel, however formal check in time starts at 4pm, other before that is not guaranteed, meaning that if you got the room earlier than that those are great news even waiting 1h45.We would like to thank you for staying at Pestana Miami South Beach. We hope this experience has not tarnished your impression of our hotel permanently. We would be delighted to change it during your next stay.Kind regards,

We were travelling with friends, and had a really great stay. Clean, nice room, and exceptionally nice staff and management. Good sized pool. Great location - just two blocks from the beach, and right outside all the noise and traffic of Collins/Ocean Avenues. But they have a private area on the beach, with free chairs and umbrellas. Good for families, couples, and solo travelers alike. We'd definitely come back again. Note that the shower is separate from the toilet, which is very European, as this is a Portugese chain (important for American travelers to know)
