We stayed for a baseball tournament and had a blast. About 20 mins from the field. Beautiful house, better than we expected. The house was well stocked and very clean. We had plenty of room and everyone had their own area. The back porch was great to relax at the end of the day. Only suggested improvement would be to have a physical folder explaining house rules and doâs and donât.
We choose the home due to its spacious layout and proximity to Oneonta. We were not disappointed by these features. The yard was perfect for our 13 year old cocker spaniel and the layout meant that 5 people could each have space. The porch was perfect for hanging out and the kitchen made preparing meals a breeze. We did note that the property overall could use a little renovation. I emailed the property managers as soon as I arrived with some things I was noticing and they mentioned that a renovation was in the cards for Spring. This would be great. The house is overall wonderful just needs some sprucing up from peeling wall paper, rusty shower doors and stuck doors. There are lots of warnings about the sulfur water smell in the listing. They are not wrong. While not ideal, it was fine. Just bring bottled water and use it for all drinking and cooking needs.
We really enjoyed our stay during our sonâs week at CASV. The house is just as described, was comfortable, and had everything we needed for a break from the tournament. It was very hot the week we visited (temps in mid to upper 90s with high humidity) so the central AC was a huge bonus for the main floor. We were glad my son was staying at the village with his team and we didnât need the upstairs bedroom except for one night. That bedroom is not tied to the central AC and has a mini split set up. We tried to cool it down and used the small fan located in the bedroom but it just didnât work out. We ended up setting up one of the air mattresses in the living/dining room by the end of the evening for him to use that one night. It was simple to set up and put away the next morning. A bigger box fan and shades on the windows in that space may help to keep the bedroom cooler when the rare week of extreme heat occurs. My family thoroughly enjoyed the large yard and pond. We saw some deer in the evenings but werenât at the property all that much to take advantage of the lovely outdoor space as much as we would have liked. There absolutely is no cell service (we use Verizon) so make sure to note directions to and from the house until you get more familiar with the location. While the location may seem far from CASV it really only took roughly 20 minutes and it wasnât a difficult drive. The communication with our host was top notch. Thank you for sharing this lovely home!
Enjoyed our stay at the house which worked out great for 5 adults and 2 children ages 8 and 10 while other sibling was staying at All Star Village for a week of baseball. Trip to CASV is a 18-20 minute drive through nice countryside roads and traffic was never an issue. Saw lighting bugs for the first time at night, also saw a fox cross the property and kids caught frogs and a small snake. Wifi worked great and needed since no service at property. House had most everything we needed with no issues, and host communication was great. Would stay again and recommend.
Great place, very clean. Yard and deck are great, water smells like sulfur but that might just be the area. Bring bottle water. Everything else was great.
I rented this house because my son played at All Star Village. The house was fully stocked, clean and comfortable. It was the perfect place for my family and me.
We appreciated having the linens and towels included. Having the starter paper products, high-quality soaps, and cleaning supplies was convenient. Inside was decorated nicely and had lots of open space for our family to move around. It definitely has charm and is quiet. Our dog loved the yard.
Our family chose this property largely based on a review citing its convenience to Cooperstown Dreams Park. The 31 minute one-way drive got tiring after a day or two of back and forth. The property title itself is misleading, indicating it's near "baseball" (be aware that All-Star Village is not the same as Dreams Park--our bad!!).
We did not expect the well-water to smell as bad as it did and it made cooking and basic hygiene inconvenient. Thank goodness for the Dollar General down the road for bottled water!
The kitchen lacked a toaster oven and only had one outlet for additional appliances.
We had some issues with the remote controls for the Apple TV and Bose stereo. We believe the batteries were dead.
The upstairs suite had no window coverings whatsoever. Some of the windows in the house lacked screens or did not open fully.
We did not find any local eating or shopping.
The primary shower was newly renovated and nicely done. However, the other bathroom shower was small.
Overall, this is a nice country home but not an ideal place for anyone traveling to visit Dreams Park for a week of baseball in Cooperstown.
I couldnât be happier of our choice of residence for our Cooperstown experience! The location is perfect - far enough away to feel remote but close enough to quickly get to the fields.
Pre-arrival communication was perfect - I knew exactly what I needed - where it was - how to access - and a bunch of helpful items to consider while we were there. The Wi-Fi was perfect - the house has been remodeled with everything our family needed.
When we arrived - there was a tiny issue - we contacted the manager and it was sorted in a way that many business no longer operate - it just validated weâd picked the right place. I even contacted the manager a few weeks after our stay - again - communication quick and perfect.
We saw so much wildlife and while I was working in the office area on a call - enjoyed watching a beaver come down onto the property and swim around in the lake.
We made sâmores on the fire pit one night - my wife loved the expensive water purifier - I loved the RokuâŠa perfect place to stay if youâre visiting the area. So glad I listened to my wife and cancelled the local Marriott for this.
The house was very nice and comfortable. Was in a good location, very quiet. Loved hearing the bullfrogs in the pond.. lots of space outside and we appreciated our small dog could join us. Easy access to town and surrounding area.
This property was exactly as described and accurate photos. It worked out perfectly for our family of 3 teenagers and 2 parents for some Cooperstown All Star Village baseball. It was great waking up in the morning and wandering around the property with a cup of coffee. The pond was very active with frogs and salamanders and we even had a crane come visit one morning. The second night we were there were came back from the ballpark at dusk and got to witness the fireflies aka lightening bugs. We come from out west so that was a first for us. I will be looking for any reason to come back out and stay at this house. There is also a perfect stream running through the property that was calling for a fly rod. Can't wait to come back!!
