Huwelijksreis in een luxe nieuw Hotel
Nieuw Hotel met veel voorzieningen en fijne ligging, via tuin toegang tot de boulevard. Niet direct aan zee, deze ligt zo'n 25 meter vanaf het Hotel naar beneden lopen. Geen strand aanwezig maar wel rotskusten en mooie vergezichten. Kamer met ruim bed, zithoek, balkon en vanuit badkamer een raam en doorkijk naar de Atlantische Oceaan. Bushalte voor het Hotel waarvandaan meerdere bussen naar verschillende locaties genomen kunnen worden. Veel eetgelegenheden rondom het Hotel tegen aantrekkelijke prijzen. Gastvrij en behulpzaam personeel. Veelal senioren verbleven in het Hotel (60+) in de tijd dat wij er waren (begin april) Eindconclusie: Aangenaam verblijf met genoeg mogelijkheden om een schitterende vakantie te beleven!

Een mooi hotel, met fijne tuin en zwembaden. Het is alleen wat gehorig mede door de echoënde ruimten en de plavuizen slaapkamer vloer ervaarden wij als onplezierig. Koud als je uit bed stapt.

Pestana Promenade in Funchal, modern hotel with friendly staff,we felt very welcome
We booked a package with flight, hotel and rental car. When we arrived at the airport we picked up our rental car. A tip: don't buy the full tank of gas at the rental company, then you're allowed to return the car with an empty gas tank. We stayed for 10 days and just barely got it near empty 600km! They say it's cheaper to buy the tank of gas, i really doubt it and it's annoying to keep the tank near empty. We arrived at the hotel within 30 minutes. It's a modern hotel with everything we needed and very friendly staff. At some previous hotels we felt like we were just a number. But here you really feel welcome. During our stay of 10 days we saw almost everything on the island except for a lot of the walks, we only had a few. You have three popular routes to drive on the island. West coast, east coast and Nun's valley They are all amazing. We walked to the 25 falls and Balcoes in Riberio frio (check out the picknick area). We recommend Madeira to people that like nature and enjoy walking.

Luxe hotel, ideaal voor ontspannen vakantie
Het is een zeer luxe hotel , waar dagelijks zorg wordt besteed aan onderhoud, en prachtig gelegen aan de Atlantische Oceaan. Prima voorzieningen, ook voor wat minder goed weer, zoals binnenzwembad, fitnessruimte, sauna, whirlpool, biljartkamer. Onbijtbuffet is zeer uitgebreid. Enige tegenvaller: extreem hoge prijzen voor welness. Hotel ligt weliswaar op een klein halfuur lopen van het centrum van Funchal, maar de wandeling is aangenaam. Bovendien stoppen vlakbij het hotel bussen die ongeveer iedere 10 minuten naar Funchal rijden (tip: koop een meerdaagse kaart). Ook de Aerobus (van en naar vliegveld) stopt op 2 minuten loopafstand. Voldoende goede eet- en drinkgelegenheden vlakbij het hotel, evenals winkels, pinautomaat , mogelijkheid om excursies te boeken en autoverhuur (twee tot drie dagen auto huren is zeer aan te raden).

The stay at Pestana Promenade was extremely unpleasant. The room 1027 had a mildew or mold smell mixed with terrible body odor which gave me a headache and was unbearable. I later encountered the body odor smell on a plane during a flight from Funchal to Ponta Delgado. The shower door was insufficient leading to inevitable flooding of the bathroom which may have contributed to mold and mildew forming under the sink on the wall. The curtains and box spring were stain ridden. I saw two roaches in the hallway outside of my room walking back from eating breakfast. Wall paper was peeling and the carpet in the hallway was stained. No employee was stationed at the desk in front of the spa for the duration. I used $111.37 in one key points which was basically a waste. The full price of booking $240 did not reflect the overall decor of the establishment. I feel entitled to a partial if not full refund. There are pictures and video to back these claims.

Fantastisk dejligt hotel. Havde den fornøjelse at blive opgraderet grundet min personlighed. Dejlig morgenmad med meget dejligt skåret frugt. Meget venlig og smilende personer i receptionen. Havde en speciel connection der. Det så afgjordt et hotel jeg ville komme på igen. Eneste anke er at sengen kunne føles en anelse hård, men det opvejede alt det andet.

We had an absolutely perfect stay at Pestana Promenade! The rooms are lovely and spacious. The only thing that bugged me was the big arch blocking our view of the sea partially. A few rooms have this problem. The staff are amazing, especially the cleaning ladies who do a wonderful job and are very kind. Amazing staff in the restaurant as well! This was our second stay at the hotel and it didn’t disappoint. Every member of staff, no matter what their role, were exceptional. They were professional, yet friendly, and always able to help. They went out of their way to ensure my parents were happy with their vegetarian needs, and spent much time helping us choose our tours. The Island tours are a fantastic way to see everything, or you can get a bus outside the hotel into Funchal then to whenever you need. We found the taxis were reasonably priced too. The hotel outdoor and indoor pools were great, as well as the spa services. All set in beautiful grounds with easy access to the promenade. Breakfast had ample variety with so many bread choices, pastries, an omlette station, fresh fruit, ham, cheses etc. Some nights had fun entertainment with Madeiran dancers and BBQ, good Singers and a quality Karaoke night. The bartenders were happy to make you any cocktail if they had the ingredients, in addition to their extensive list. Our room had a huge super king bed and awesome seaview from our 6th floor balcony. Once again, what made the two weeks were the wonderful staff. It was great to see the Hotel Manager helping the staff and he was always friendly. We particularly want to thank Salomé & Flipe (our favourites), Lina, Tito and Rui in Reception; Fatima, Ana, Tania, Ivone, Claudia and Andrew in the restaurant. The dining options were a disappointment. After our first buffet dinner was poorly done we chose to only eat our prepaid breakfast onsight. Internet in the room was extremely unreliable and my husband had to go to the business center to use his laptop. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. On the positive side, the staff were pleasant. While outdated, the rooms were clean.

Be careful while booking this property. The property does not offer double/Queen beds as advertised on some booking sites. Property has nice views with a good pool. Location is a bit far to the center if you're expecting to walk. Rooms are spacious but seem a bit outdated and beds are not comfortable. Amenities closing hours are quite early. Hotel seems to be likened by much older age group. You would expect better service for the price you pay. Property has lots of potential but seems owners don't want to invest in it. I do not recommend this place.

Én uge på hotellet, uge 7 2023. Et fantastisk fint ophold, uden nogen form for anledning til klager. Suveræn beliggenhed, med fuld 180 graders udsigt over oceanen. Pools, Spa med sauna og dampbad, badekåber var inklusive. Morgenmaden var fuldstændig i top, der var ikke noget der manglede, og kvaliteten helt i top. Særdeles venligt personale, som havde evnen til at føle dig hjemme. Vi kan varmt anbefale hotellet! Hilsen A&B.

Staff are amazing at this place. So helpful, so caring, honestly I was so happy staying here. It is a little worn in places and the double bed was two singles smushed together, but I enjoyed myself and had fun. I would come again.

Dejligt hotel
Rigtig dejligt hotel, utrolig god service og fantastisk poolområde. Eneste minus er, det er tilladt at ryge på altanerne. Hvilke medførte, vi måtte have altandøren lukket aften og morgen, da vores nabo røg meget og det kom ind i væres værelse. Morgenmaden er super, med et meget stort udvalg. Der er ca 40 minutters gang til havnen, men masser at se på, på vejen derned.
