Bachelorette gathering
The house was spacious. The owner were attentive and respectful. The house is like an old Victorian home, it has a lot of character. There were plenty of bedding options for our party. The home is not perfect. But we loved it!! It was close to downtown. And we all had a great time.

Would Not Rent Again
I wanted so badly to give this a good review. However, the state of our stay made it impossible. When booking I saw the concerns about the lack of cleanliness, but I was certain that being a few years ago, they would have remedied the situation. The Bad: I was mistaken and believe they need to fire their cleaning company. You couldn't walk around without having to clean your feet. There is obviously some structural damage on the third floor. There was a soft spot in the floor on the third floor landing, the ceiling was caving in (by at least a few feet) in the middle of the ceiling in one of the third floor bedrooms, and the damage to walls was everywhere. The upstairs couch (which we had planned to use for sleeping) had a badly broken leg on one side and couldn't be utilized. The Good: The kitchen and bathrooms were very nice. In fact, the entire main living area on the first floor was nice enough. We were initially concerned with parking, as we had four cars with us. However, this was never an issue. The proximity to Fourth Street Live and Churchill Downs was great for our group. We still had to drive, but they were both within 10 minutes. The Neutral: With a group our size (13) you don't expect much privacy. So it didn't bother us that one of the bedrooms had to be walked through to get to the second bathroom, as well as to the small room with a set of bunk beds.

Has potential, BUT…
The house is musty, dusty, and cobweb-y. Not sure the cleaning crew was there before our arrival. We were greeted by previous guest's random trash strung around the rooms, old food splash in the gas burners, dead bugs inside the window seals, thick dust, visibly blackened and burned out electrical outlets, extension cords running the hallways to power A/Cs, disconnected dryer and A/C vents pouring hot air inside the house, unusable filthy patio, etc..... The owner graciously came over twice, once to repair breakers and add a long extension cord to give an A/C unit power. He came again the next morning to vent the A/C unit outside instead of inside. We appreciate the attention to the repairs. However, the house is HAZARDOUS and urgently needs the electrical wiring addressed. In the car leaving our stay, we became alarmed to learn that our clean dog is bringing home FLEAS! Given the dirtiness of the house, this doesn’t come as a surprise, but a severe disappointment. The house needs a deep clean and some essential health and safety maintenance.

Charming and challenging
I did love and appreciate the charming history of this home. Some of our challenges were due to aging parent’s and my own understanding of the house. The challenges with the AC units not working well in most bedrooms is something that should be fixed. Second floor second bedroom until was blowing hot air out the back and the room continued to stay around 82-86 degrees. The cleaning crew didn’t do a thorough enough job. Keep in mind bathrooms are inside primary bedroom (as are the bunk beds in a small adjacent room) and moon main floor so keep that in mind for everyone having access. Beautiful house so if those few things are fixed a great place for those who love a historical home.

Neat place!
Id definition stay here again, bit definitely would not in the heat of the summer. The air conditioning in the bedrooms is a bit of a problem, especially the 2nd floor room. Overall, great home with clearly a lot of history. Would love to have seen some photos or more historical information on the home!
