Chumleigh Lodge Hotel stay due to train strike not choice basically helped us out of a problem. Michael who welcomed us was extremely helpful. Room clean enough, and bed comfortable. Unfortunately the evidence of some sort of possibly bed-bug traps on stairs is not encouraging. Neither is the large ammount of old belongings around the property, clearly lack of resources to deal with all the issues arising.

The owner of this property very friendly had a few conversations with him was easy check-in room was clean bed comfy had tea &coffee in room shower good over bath about 5mins walk to shops and cafe and buses only problem we had they didn’t do breakfast but we went into Greggs which was 5mins walk

Unfortunately altho the host was a very pleasanr man we did have to wait over 20 minutes hammering on the door to get entry. There is no doorbell & The telephone line is a dead line. The room wasn't very clean. The toilet mat stained yellow with urine. Me & my husband left with flea bites on our legs.

Unusual Stay
Unfortunately although it was late, after waiting for 30 mins and knocking on the front door multiple times (there was no bell) there was no one was around to open the door, and the phone numbers for the hotel are out of service. I may have been unlucky but it was still disappointing. I didn’t get to try the actual rooms as I had to find another hotel then very last minute. I appreciate my circumstance was unusual (last min booking around 9pm due to my sick Mum in a hospice) - and prob doesn’t reflect the hotel itself, it was still disappointing as I have lost my money.

I was unable to gain access due to there being no doorbell. My husand (who I had called in desperation as my phone battery was low) called the b n b but the phone went unanswered. Eventually, after continuing to hammer on the inside door it was opened by a very rude man who was aggressive and insulting. He told me that I had not been knocking at all. Once inside he remained aggressive and insulting. I went up to my room, but felt vulnerable and unsafe, as this mans manner was unpredictable. I left.

Muito bom
O hotel tem boa localização com estação de metrô,linha de ônibus, supermercados e bom comercio ao redor. O proprietário foi extremamente atencioso e prestativo. Os quartos são espaçosos e limpos, ideal para uma família. Aconselho que você avise o horário de chegada pois não tem recepção 24 horas. Tivemos uma boa estadia, vale a pena!

It was useful to have the fridge and microwave in the room. Overall cleanliness could be better.whole place needs major refurbishment. 'Complimentary breakfast' could only just qualify for the name 'breakfast'.

Chumleigh Lodge Hotel Stay
Owner & staff were great! Only negative thing I can say is that on hotels.com is stated family room for 5. There was 1 double bed with a bunk bed so 2 had to share not a major issue but given the time of year it was rather hot! This could be an issue of hotels.com not the hotel we stayed in! So if you are wanting to stay in london close to shops & a tube-station to go site seeing I would recommend!

I thought it was odd at first when Alice told us that all the things we need for breakfast were in room as I'd never heard of that before but I must admit I did enjoy doing it.. Cereals are normally all I have in the morning so that was lovely and in the fridge was milk and two different types of juice so it was like being at home and my wife could make her cup of tea

l albergo anche se non e situato nella city e molto vicino alla stazione della metro north (quella nera) che e sempre funzionante, ci vogliono circa 20 minuti di treno per arrivare in centro,dalla stazione alla metro ci vogliono circa 10 min di tragitto. zona residenziale tranquilla dove si respira la vera aria inglese con le sue caratteristiche casette con tetto spiovente, comignoli, staccionate e giardinetti. il Chumleigh lodge è piu che altro un viletta bifamiliare adibita ad hotel, quindi vi sembrerà di soggiornare in un casa inglese, sopratutto grazie alla cortesia e ospitalità del proprietario Micheal. la stuttura possiede una bellissima e ampia sala comune che viene utilizzata anche per la colazione ( comprersa nel prezzo del pernottamento, con nostra grande sorpresa) arredata in sitle inglese in legno. la colazione è a buffet e su richiesta viene servita anche la english brekfast con uova e prosciutto. ci sono dolci e salti, e vi consentiranno di portare via qualche snack per la giornata e riempire le boracce con acqua o succo. La stanza era pulita il bagno in camera con vasca ed era provvista di saponette. era anche provvista di mini bar dove che era stato rifornito con latte e succhi di frutta, un microonde e bollitore con the ecaffe solubile e cereali. aveva ferro e asse da stiro e phon. ottima struttura soprautto per chi ha bimbi.perosnale ottimo ci tornerei di corsa

Expensive, poor condition, poor service.
Front door was locked when I arrived at 2100hrs. No towels in room, sink was blocked, no TV remote control. No available staff, had to bang on locked door to get served. very little breakfast items provided in room. Overpriced hotel that is poorly run.

Not very nice stayed 2 nights because i couldnt find anywhere else 1 night no light in bathroom the room had cereals and milk but no bowl to eat out of 2nd night cereal and bowl but no milk then the small milk pods for a cup of tea were minging bit of a dump really ! Oh and the place was freezing cold !

Better than it looks
Ok..when you pull up its not the best looking hotel but the rooms are modern and clean with good amenities... ours had a fridge freezer... microwave kettle....etc... and a fan... and boy did that come in handy... the staff are friendly and only a short walk to the tube station... we will return !!

Worst "hotel" ever
I've been travelling for 20 years but never gave any bad review until today. The place is filthy, cardboard box filled with rubbish in the room, cleaning liquid on the sink in the bathroom, no bodywash no shampoo no towels, wardrobe full of various items, room door not lockable, bath really dirty, etc. The list just goes on and on...

Booked a family room for our stay 4 adult men as we all went to see a boxing match at Wembley I was told there would be a double bed and two singles only for there to be a double bed and a bunk bed not very nappy as from our room all you could see was a lot of rubbish I the garden it was like a building site

The forecourt and front of the hotel are a mess which hardly engender positivity. Lovely greeting by the person I presume was the owner. Rooms were ok, bedding clean and reasonably well equipped for the price. Bathroom was not so. Dirty toilet, rubbish shower which never ran hot and horrible sink. Still it was warm and quiet. I won't go back nor would I recommend however there are much worse out there.

Unfortunately, a disappointing experience.
The manager was a pleasant chap and helpful enough, but there were problems with our stay in a twin room. As the room was sold on a bed & breakfast basis, we expected breakfast. At any b&b anywhere, ever I have previously experienced, breakfast has had a full range of cereals, including whole-grain options (which are all I would choose), juice and a proper cooked breakfast and toast. Here, the 'breakfast' was "in the room", where there was a 'choice' of cornflakes or rice crispies - there was no fresh milk in the fridge, only small UHT pots by the tea/coffee. This was particularly disappointing as I had selected this 'hotel' over another significantly cheaper option because it was 'bed & BREAKFAST' - we had to have breakfast elsewhere at additional expense. Simply not good enough! On the first morning, there was no hot water, so a shower was not possible. A simple face and 'pits' wash at the sink was not enough to feel comfortable, and so I felt a bit grimy throughout Friday, spoiling the whole of this day. On the second night we were moved into two singles, which was fine, except that the shower in my room had the weakest flow I have yet encountered and the water was stone cold, so no shower possible at the end of the day either. Luckily, I was able to use the shower in my mate's room in the morning, so felt fresh for the second day at least. However, the same problem re. breakfast: unappealing cheap cereal and no milk! Would have been a third cheaper at Premier Inn!
