'Easy check-in with friendly staff. Courtyard room was very nice. Bar is “OK” but the excellent barman made having a drink there a pleasure. Wide choice for breakfast.'

'Large, comfortable room with a modern en-suite. Very amenable and accommodating hosts with nice ideas such as putting on complimentary food in the bar during England World Cup games. We had a “simple” pie & chips from the menu and it was terrific with, as promised, real gravy. We didn’t have full English breakfast but the toast on the Continental option from a local artisan baker was fab. Lots of little touches that make the Royal Oak a little different from the ordinary.'

'The rooms are very comfortable, interestingly decorated, and well equipped with plug outlets, etc. Only negative is that meal service ends at 8pm in the restaurant, and road traffic can be a bit loud (if you are sensitive).'

'Brilliant location, brilliant little cottage perfect for a couple'

'Amazing setting and beautiful grounds Great place for wedding celebrations However the rooms were rather small with limited facilities for the price paid. Breakfast times restricted to 8-10 , would extend to accommodate guests’needs. Also a bit disappointing you had to pay a supplement to have half of the items on the menu'

'That was exceptional inn We have been traveling around the Uk but that was the best inn we have been to The food is great, breakfast is very rich and the hospitality is fantastic There are several walks around the inn and there are easy to walk '

'Room was tired and need refresh, cracked decor. Beds were clean. Light pollution from garden into room, lack of decent curtains. No breakfast during weekdays, did not bother with weekend. Noisy environment from pub and landlord’s flat next to room. Would not recommend.'

'The staff at the hotel was so so lovely and very helpful. We were racing at Oulton Park and it was a hot weekend and they always filled my water bottle with lots of ice so I could stay cool. The restaurant had good food. For a very simple hotel I was very impressed with the staff and also how clean the room was. It's definitely not a super fancy hotel but for a quick drive to the track it's great.'

'Echt een super Engelse locatie. Prima ontbijten. Zeer behulpzaam en vriendelijke bediening. De kamers werden elke dag geruimd. De badkamer elke dag schone handdoeken. Handdoeken met een afmeting dat ik me schaamde om ze te gebruiken. Fantastisch mooie uitzichten vanaf het terras naar de zeer wijdde omgeving van Cheshire. Wij hadden er geen probleem mee, integendeel, maar het ligt op een afgelegen locatie. Een buitengewoon vriendelijke locatie. Echt Cheshire. Je moet echt met een auto komen.'
