B&B in Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve

'Such a shame- could have been 5 star!! Internally the room was great, very comfortable and modern BUT from outside looked dreadful- dirty windows, dead window boxes and number missing from the door. Was very inconvenient, having to go out and buy tea & coffee ( I had asked before we travelled and was assured it was provided.) I draw the line at having to buy loo roll !! Attention to detail needed!'

'Faultless. Perfect holiday. Thank you.'

'It was fine for an overnight stay. However we both found the beds very uncomfortable. Nice enough bar and friendly locals.'

'great place, super food, wonderful selection of beer and polite and friendly staff.'

'We had a wonderful 4 night stay at The Gables. Room was fabulous and host Angus so friendly and welcoming. Such a quiet property and bed so comfortable and warm. Bathroom facilities excellent. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and nothing was too much for Angus. Thank you we thoroughly enjoyed meeting you and staying at The Gables. Mike and Wendy'

'Disappointing from start, exterior not welcoming and garden neglected. First time we used the shower the door fell off, reported it to the host who said it’s always doing it. Floor was wet through every time we had a shower. Asked for poached egg on toast for breakfast and were told she would do the eggs and we had to do the toast but no times given so eggs went cold while waiting for toast. Small pots of marmalade were not full or sealed. Second morning at breakfast, no milk on the table and...

'Did not appreciate a separate bathroom from our bedroom. We booked 12 months in advance and I am sure that I would not have booked if I had noticed that. Our room was situated at the top of the stairs which meant other guests walking past possibly as you were heading to have or return from a shower. Our room could also be seen from a public area (a small corridor from the main bar to the beer garden) which is not good especially for a woman. The hosts went out of their way to find us...

'Zeer mooie ruime kamer, helaas is er geen raam dat open kan. Het ontbijt in de voormalibe stallen is ook zeer leuk en goed al was net de eerste ochtend haotisch vanwege de vele gasten dje allemaal op dezelfde tijd kwamen eten.'

'Room was clean, but mould/mildew in bathroom. No wifi. Bit of a trek into town but it’s a nice walk, uphill on the way back. Lady downstairs was lovely. Definitely lots of noise coming from the pub when you’re trying to sleep. Cheap accommodation, you pay for what you get.'

'Hotel was nice however the host insisted my colleague paid her direct in her account even this had been paid for via Hotels.com'
