In the morning you can watch the deer from the terrace, hike through the Franconian Forest and on the nearby Rennsteig or visit the spa in Bad Steben.
The Wall Trail between Franconia and Thuringia as a former inner German border is about 2 km away.
The neighboring state of Thuringia with the Saale-Unstrut region is also easy to reach and offers many excursion possibilities.
The medieval towns of Coburg and Kulmbach are ideal for entertaining day trips.
