The detailed description shown IS clear! The square footage of this room is 100 sq ft and given in the description. The photos show the beds are pressed against the side walls and still close together. That should be enough for anybody of average intelligence to spot it's a small room!

Fire Officer's inspection on 27/07/2021 declared our premises to be SAFE and our standards as GOOD. Expedia were kind enough to telephone me today 10/09/2021, explaining that they know this is a misleading and malicious review, and allowing me to update my earlier response thus: This guest used a pseudonym to reserve a room and a credit card that does not match her name. The door to the room she chose is 2'6" high and clearly described and shown in photographs in the advert. The guest managed to escape prepayment (we do not take credit or debit cards) and left without settling her account. Traced with difficulty to her business site and after a week repeatedly emailing and phoning, I could get no reply. I sent private messages to her Facebook sites too, and was ignored - until I posted something public she could not ignore - a request for payment of her bill. It was deleted, so I moved it to her reviews, which are permanent. Within 3 hours, she had left this malicious tirade (which makes a string of false accusations) and I'd received a call from our local Fire Officer, provoked by her. He visited, checked the premises, and on 27th July declared our premises SAFE and our fire regulations GOOD. The size of a room door and absence of a window has no bearing on fire safety, only the price. Indeed, this guest stayed a second night, which in itself explodes the myth of her ever believing it to be unsafe.

What a lovely review! A breath of fresh air in a season when many tourists are booking without reading adverts and then complaining about obvious things they should have know. You were a pleasure to host and we hope to see you again one day. All the best, Fiona

The sign is large and prominently displayed right on the roadside, visible from both directions and lit at night. Not sure what else one can be expected to do. We are a little country cottage, not Premier Inns!

Reader: Please take note that this review is anonymous, because the guest is too ashamed of themselves to admit who they are. There is no suggestion in the offer that the room is en-suite, though other rooms are. In fact it states VERY clearly that the room has the use of two separate bathrooms. The small size of the room is obvious from both the photos, and the description, where it states prominently that it has an area of just 100sq ft. The nature of the facilities are reflected in the price - it's the CHEAPEST ROOM IN THE WHOLE DISTRICT! If you can only afford to pay for a push-bike, don't whine when you don't get a Rolls Royce!

In future, kindly READ the offer details before booking, and don't complain about things you were told in advance, or which you simply failed to notice when you were here. It's a cottage and you chose the SMALLEST CHEAPEST room. The size is published and reflected in the price - it is the CHEAPEST TWO PERSON ROOM IN THE DISTRICT - only camping in your own tent is cheaper! Telly is in the living room downstairs (but you never went there), and unlimited wi-fi is free, available throughout, and the code provided upon request. Breakfast is included in he price and advertised as "HELP YOURSELF". There were 2 types of coffee, two teas (inc. decaf), a big platter of assorted fruits on display and more prepared fruit in the fridge, two breads, croissants, 6 spreads, plus butter, olive spread, 4 to 5 fruit juices and no less than 10 varieties of cereal, all on the worktop less than 3 feet from your table, but you have to get up to CHOOSE it for yourself. My offer clearly stated the room shared a bathroom and separate toilet with the only other bedroom on that floor (so not en-suite) and it is NOT used by "the household" - we have our own facilities on the ground floor. It's not my fault if you forgot your nightwear, and I provide spare robes (and hairdryers) to guests who ask - there was a floral cotton medium size ladies robe on the back of the bathroom door! It seems it doesn't matter what I say in the offer if you don't read it, what I put out for breakfast if you can't be bothered to look at it, or how nice I am to guests, if they are going to give me a rotten review and a lousy score because they don't open their eyes or mouths when here! Thanks for wrecking my score with your brainless nonsense.

Many thanks for a great review, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay - it's a lovely area. Check in window is flexible by arrangement, but running this place and the smallholding unaided 365 days a year, requires as much regular fixed free time as I can get! All the very best. Fiona
