"Het hotel doet wat het moet doen: een schoon bed, een nette badkamer en een rustige nacht. De kamers zijn eenvoudig ingericht en bieden voldoende comfort, maar zonder extra’s die het verblijf memorabel maken. Het ontbijt is prima, maar niet meer dan standaard – geen verrassingen of lokale specialiteiten. De service is vriendelijk, maar niet opvallend hartelijk. Alles verloopt correct, maar zonder persoonlijke touch. De locatie is handig genoeg, al is er weinig in de directe omgeving dat uitnodigt tot verkennen. Kortom: een degelijk hotel voor wie gewoon een plek zoekt om te overnachten, zonder verwachtingen van luxe of bijzondere sfeer. Prima voor een korte zakelijke trip, maar niet iets om speciaal voor terug te komen."

"After parking in the Kolaport bílahús it was a short 5 minute walk to the hotel while looking at the boats in the harbour. The hotel has a bakery right at the entrance so we had to wait for people to move aside in the queue to walk past and get to the reception. Honestly this is the only remotely negative thing there is to say. The reception is very friendly, the interior is wonderful and it feels very safe as you need to use your keycard to access the floor. The room was spaceous, the beds are comfortable, the shower is everything you need after a long day of exploring Reykjavik and even the shampoo/showergel is provided. Checking in and out was very easy and fast and the location is perfect for being just a walking distance away from the busier centre. We have enjoyed our two days in Reykjavik and our stay at the Exeter hotel was a big part of it."

"Hotel in hoofdstraat, bij winkels en restaurants en bezienswaardigheden op loopafstand. Ontbijt is geweldig en bij vroeg vertrek krijg je een ontbijtpakket mee. Kamer(familiekamer) ruim met balkon en ruime badkamer met douche. Uitzicht op binnenplaats en deel stad. Kamertemperatuur goed te regelen. Prima bedden. Inpandig restaurant (niet van hotel zelf) en Starbucks. Personeel erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Op loopafstand van busstop 9 en 12 voor tours. "

"We stayed one night in a double room without a private bathroom. The location is perfect – just a short walk from the heart of downtown Reykjavik. The room itself was spacious and met our basic needs, except for one major issue: there were someone else’s hairs on the bed, which was quite off-putting. However, the shared bathrooms and toilets were truly awful. We didn’t expect a luxury place, but we did expect a reasonable level of cleanliness and maintenance. One of the bathroom doors couldn’t even close properly due to a warped frame. One toilet was broken, another was clogged, and the hairdryer and kettle were both out of order. In short: while the room was acceptable, the shared bathroom facilities were a nightmare and seriously affected our overall experience."
