Located in the village of Chillington, midway between the market town of Kingsbridge and the long pebble beach at Slapton Sands, this is a superb location for families wanting a holiday set in the heart of the South Hams region of South Devon, close to many wonderful beaches and glorious coastline. The village of Chillington enjoys excellent facilities, a public house, village hall, playing field, post office/general store, butchers, garage, hair dressing salon and a pottery. The South Hams has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with its rolling hills, wooded river valleys, patchwork fields, sandy beaches, a spectacular coast line and small picturesque villages. There are ample opportunities to walk, sail, surf, windsurf, fish, ride and golf as virtually every sport and outdoor activity is well catered for. A few miles away is Slapton Sands, a 2 mile stretch of pebble beach, with the sea on one side and a fresh water lagoon on the inland side, making a nature reserve which attracts birds and wildlife. The South Hams enjoys one of the mildest climates in Britain, warmed by the Gulf Stream. A lovely property less than 10 minutes drive to the lovely beaches of Torcross and Slapton. Fabulous accommodation catering for upto 12 people in 6 airy bedrooms. Plenty of space to relax inside and out We will be returning next year

Went with 11 family members and this property was great. Lots of space with outside space to accommodate the children. Kitchen really well kitted out and bedrooms all made up really nicely with plenty of bathrooms for all!

We had a lovely 5 day break at Meadow Mews in October. The house is very warm and comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped and all appliances are easy to operate without having to open a manual! We didn’t have the opportunity to use the garden or terrace but in the summertime these will be lovely additions to the holiday experience. Fantastic, well equipped and as good as it looks in the photo’s. A very comfort, spacious character barn conversion, which was both luxurious but also practical. The kitchen was well equipped but also had plenty of storage space for your own items. Beds and sofas were very comfortable again with plenty of storage space, plenty of bath rooms as most rooms were en-suite. The outside eating area and BBQ were a delight, with access to a further meadow suitable for ball games such as rounders or cricket. Ideal place to stay for families. We had a fantastic week in lovely , atmospheric house from when we arrived until we left. Carol was there to greet us when we arrived , and is charming and helpful . She made us feel very welcome and the milk in the fridge and a cake were lovely touches. The house is very spacious and well appointed so our group , including two small children were able to be relaxed throughout . The views to the rear of the property are lovely and there is a quiet to the area , apart from when a certain cow sounded off in the distance . The weather was wet and windy (but it was February!) so we spent quite a lot of time indoors. The lounge is comfortable and there is plenty of room, the kitchen is very well equipped and the pub is a few minutes walk up the road! The view from the lounge was over fields at the back of the house and was lovely. Every bedroom upstairs has an en-suite and the two downstairs bedrooms share a bathroom. The cottage is in the village of Chillington which is about a ten minute drive from Kingsbridge which has plenty of shops, two supermarkets and lots of pubs and eateries. The cottage itself was very comfortable, we stayed in the downstairs double room the bed was very comfortable and room clean. As was the bathroom. The kitchen was very well resourced with everything you could need our want at hand which was great as we stayed in a mixed group with young children so had several meals in the house. The village itself only has one shop which closes at 5pm weekdays and 12pm weekends. The pub the Bear and Blacksmith serves lunch and dinner and the food is good, staff and very friendly but the choice is limited. The one thing which would have made our stay more enjoyable would be a television which connects to the internet in the living room, because we had such bad weather it would have been nice to stream a film for the kids or us of an evening. There is a DVD player so if the forecast is for rain take some DVDs along with you. All in all a very nice break with the family, we would recommend the property and the owners couldn't have been more helpful or friendly with a lovely cake and bottle of bubbly on arrival.
