Our stay at Cielo Lodge was absolutely unforgettable and exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome with their warmth, attentiveness, and willingness to help with anything we needed. Their hospitality truly made the experience extra special. The food was another highlight of our trip — every meal was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The local ingredients and creative dishes gave us a true taste of Costa Rica, and dining with such breathtaking surroundings made it even more memorable. Cielo Lodge offers an amazing variety of activities, making it easy to experience the beauty and adventure of Costa Rica. Whether exploring nature, enjoying guided excursions, or simply relaxing and taking in the scenery, there was always something wonderful to do. The grounds themselves are absolutely gorgeous — lush, peaceful, and immaculately maintained. What truly amazed us was the incredible wildlife surrounding the lodge. We saw colorful birds, monkeys, and so many beautiful animals right in their natural habitat. It felt like being immersed in a tropical paradise. If you are looking for a place that combines luxury, adventure, incredible food, outstanding service, and the superb wildlife of Costa Rica, Cielo Lodge is truly a hidden gem. We cannot wait to return.

Have you ever seen those videos where someone rescues a puppy from the rain, gives it a warm bath, wraps it in a cozy blanket, and suddenly it believes in life again? Well... that's exactly how I felt when I arrived at Tranquilo. Sebastián and Christoff, the owners, don't just run a hotel—they seem to have made it their personal mission to make every guest feel like the most important person there. They're present, thoughtful, and always one step ahead. They picked us up from the airport, helped us organize our adventures, made sure we had the right gear for every expedition, and paid attention to every little detail. Their care for their guests goes far beyond the lodge itself. It shows in the equipment they lend you for jungle tours, the dry towels they carefully packed for our snorkeling trip, and countless little touches that made us feel genuinely cared for every single day. The food... absolutely incredible. Every meal felt like it came from a fine dining restaurant, yet somehow still had the warmth and comfort of a home-cooked meal. The rooms are beautiful, spotless, and thoughtfully equipped with everything you could possibly need. I can honestly say I've never been taken care of this well at any hotel. Tranquilo isn't just a place to stay; it's a place where you arrive exhausted and leave feeling better than when you came. I'd recommend it over and over again without a second thought. 10/10. As of today, I have a second home in Drake Bay—and its name is Tranquilo

Très beau eco lodge placé dans un environnement magnifique face à la baie.

Beautiful rainforest property with good birding opportunity, birds song, cicadas, and frogs, but "touristy", so the natural vibe gets ruined. It seems they cater to tour groups, so not very private or queit. Have to pay for 3 meals a day but on their schedule that's too late for serious birding and not as healthy as I'd prefer. I travel solo and do not enjoy sitting by myself or wasting time I could be out finding birds sitting in a restaurant. I go ut birding before daybreak so, lunch as late as 13:00 and O MG on the dinner at 19:00 hours! That's almost bedtime for a serious birder, so unhealthy. I also disliked the large group tours and no options for private guide at such a perfect, well known place to find endemic and special birds place. No fridge in room to keep my own food cold. NO WIFI in room!! Make sure you see that. I couldn't message home without walking down to the restaurant (again back out with all the people - exactly the opposite of the serene rainforest experience I'd hoped for.) Sorry to report negativity. It IS a beautiful place if being with a group instead of the self-in-nature is your thing. The road is also in bad condition - narrow with many potholes.
